PSN down?

Yes, i'am. If i'm paying for something i will stand and defend my rights as a consumer.
Gotta love the people that defend a brand like if it was a member of their family.

There's no defending here, just talking un-emotionally while you are defending your point emotionally. There's just nothing that can be done by the organization except to provide all of their data of the attack to an organization like the FBI, and work with security experts on better management of the attacks.

HAH!

Ugh...I can't stand this mindset. You're not entitled to anything. You have every right to move on from the product if you don't feel it's performing. You're making a choice to continually buy a product/service you don't feel is up to par.

I don't disagree that the PS+ subscription itself is someone's choice to continually subscribe to, but the purchase of the initial console itself should raise an issue. Like I bought the PS4 with the expectation that the servers wouldn't be down so much and as a result I got short changed.

Oh, i'm perfectly well aware of what a DDoS is. I've been on the internet since the very beginning.
That doesn't change the fact that we are entitled to some form of compensation if this is going to happen pretty often.

So, if you're driving to work on the highway, and there is an accident where a pedestrian was hit by a drunk driver ... the pedestrian owes you for time lost?

I don't think the victim owes anyone anything, even those also affected by their victimization. If you want compensation, go talk to the douchebags in charge of the attack.

Also, the bolded bit is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard ... being alive when the Internet originated hardly instills you with knowledge.

You're entitled, alright.

This coming from someone who dislikes the tired "entitle gamer" remark.

He would also need to be over the age of 50 to be alive when the internet was invented.

He's just reacting emotionally to this which is fair, but cannot see reason due to it.

What the hell is in Saint Louis, or Kirksville? That everyone is attacking so much.

If I told you I'd have to kill you.

Actually I think its just the location of the tracking company whose site everybody is watching. For whatever reason it seems they have a better picture of what's happening locally

My friend texted me that his system might have been borked. He had me check PSN and it went down for me. I literally felt bad as if it was my own console dying. I was already trying to imagine how to help him get a replacement system ... and then I realized his Best Buy employee discount probably trumps anything I could assist with.

Imagine you rent a car for 6 months and park it in your garage. The next day, your local council performs road works directly outside your house meaning you can't use the car for a whole month! Do you feel the car rental company owes you some form of compensation?

Compensation for what? lmao get out.

Read the previous post, i can still play online on Steam, except Steamwork titles.

Eh...with the defending your rights as if you're being violated, over-exaggerating by pretending you know how we'd defend family and then rolling your eyes at the end..I think you're the only one emotional.

PSN is down a bit. But it isn't nearly as much as people make it out to be. Definitely not enough to want compensation. You're able to use PSN waaaay more often than not.

I'm defending my point as consumer that constantly gets hit with these hacks. Nothing emotionally about expressing my disgust.
You never answered the question and it has happened to steam.....
I answered the question, i believe there are must be a way to counter attack such things.
So, if you're driving to work on the highway, and there is an accident where a pedestrian was hit by a drunk driver ... the pedestrian owes you for time lost?
That doesn't make any sense and it has nothing to do with this.

Why would i? I'm paying for a service to play online to Sony, not the hackers.

*Yawn* You're boring.

If you knew what ddos was why did you bring up security? No ddos is virtually impossible to stop.

What I would like to see is for Sony to have multiple end points to test connections back to server and report when experiencing difficulty connecting.

As technically, PSN is not down, but cannot connect due to network load. Hate when I try to connect, and then check "PSN status" and it says Online.

lol dude...
Yes you can still play AvP 2000 online but the most popular games on Steam are Steamworks, last I checked. And that list is growing.

Edit: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_using_Steam_authentication
Not the Ubisoft titles, i can still play them fine.

That's not the issue here, please stop detracting.

Another one, please stop detracting.

I'm perfectly calm and multi-quoting all the fanatics as we speak.
That being said. As a consumer i stand for my rights. Too bad you think its fine for a company to fuck you up whenever they can.

Don't you sort of sign up for that when using online services? I mean not literally but it's the same with anything, if it's not usable for a little bit just wait and come back later. If the doors in the bank suddenly stopped working or some other scenario like that where you can't use the service for a bit, you don't demand compensation for it.

Relieved to see it isn't just me. I even restarted my console. Ok, so this wasn't an error on Sony's end this time? Hmm. I just feel like PSN has become so unreliable as of late. Messaging is especially horrendous. It just flatout doesn't work. I also get randomly kicked out of parties and disconnected from online sessions. If this is being caused by security holes is there nothing they can do? I'd be willing to take one less free PS+ game a month in exchange for something more reliable, man.

I like the way your Brain works but seriously you could get mad and demand a refund from your City Council while these Hackers can't be touched so Sony is the only target left for our frustrations

Compensation would mean a incentive for more people to do this imo.

That's really interesting. I never really thought of it like that. But yeah your right. And I'm only talking about DDoS here, not other types of hacks and laziness by the service provider.

That's different. I'm not paying to use door at the bank. If my bank account gets robbed by some scammer within the bank i would demand compensation, even if it means hiring a lawyer to do so.

There's no way these are grown men. Have to be some teenagers or something.

What respectable grown person would find this entertaining?

Fucked for me. Can't send/receive msg's on PS4 and Vita; can't see "What's New?" and game page areas on PS4.

Worst of all: can't play Dragon Age b/c it's unable to connect to EA Servers.

New gen sucks! Starting to see why Nintendo doesn't give a sh*t about all this online bullsh*t...
