PSN Square-Enix Sale (NA)

Is Legend of Mana any good?

It has nice art and music. Everything else is kind of mediocre.

If anyone hasn't played Tactics Ogre, you are missing the best SRPG ever made.

I really hope someone has the answer to this one:

Does the NTSC version of Final Fantasy IX look noticeably better than the PAL version?

What with PAL versions often having black bars, being slower and having worse-looking CG..Is this the case for ps1 Final Fantasy's?

In your opinion. I don't like the game either but most people are quite fond of it so let's not start saying that our opinions are facts now alright?
Sorry, didn't know I was speaking for everyone with my post!!! Next time I'll say "In my opinion" in every one of my posts so that people know that I'm only speaking for myself!!!!!!!
:]]]

If I still had my PS3 hooked up (and had time to play it) I'd probably get Drakengard 3. Otherwise nothing interests me. Not that it matters though, as I'm in Europe.

Anyone who hasn't played it should get Tactics Ogre. It's the best Tactics RPG ever made. The PSP remake is excellent, as is the new translation, which Alexander O. Smith worked on.

This sale would've been amazing if Square Enix actually had a PS4 presence. It's a good price for Final Fantasy XIV though I guess, even if you buy a subscription for a few months you're still paying significantly less than a retail game.

Good sale for me. Been wanting to pick up both FF tactics and Dissidia 012 for a while now and knew they would eventually go cheap.

Weird that they excluded the FFX PS4 remaster and Parasite Eve 1. You cant go wrong with any of the PSOne classics though and FFX on Vita is a really good port as well.
I own most of these already though.

And Tomb Raider on PS4 for that price is good. There's nothing technically wrong with the port either. Fun game.

Someone tell me who to believe. I do really want to play TR 2013 on PS4.
I own vanilla TR2013 on PC, but never beat it until I got TR: DE on PS4. It runs just fine! Tries to hit 60 fps but hovers around 40-50 most the time.

Definetly runs way better than RotTR on XBONE :P

Next time I'll say "In my opinion" in every one of my posts so that people know that I'm only speaking for myself!

In all seriousness, I try to do this whenever I am voicing hotly debated or unpopular opinions. Yes, I know they are all opinions, but including an IMO makes it less inflammatory. Of course I know some people just like to start shit.

I'll probably buy Tactics Ogre.

And yeah, nobody buy regular Dissidia. The sequel literally has everything from the first one.

Well, now might be a good time to try out the FF series. Which game do I start with?

FF4 has 2D graphics and more of a classic medieval story....up until the second half of the game. It gets weird, but it in a good way. Its simple, but charming.

FF7 is scifi mixed with fantasy. Prerendered backgrounds with crude 3D characters. It's cinematic, ambitious, and has one of the best game soundtracks ever and is in general just fun. But the story eventually stops making sense halfway. It never recovers. But it's still entertaining.

FFX is basically an anime rpg. If you like modern anime or if you like other jrpgs from the last 10-15 years, FFX is one of the best.

The other ones are good too, but it think these 3 are what can get newcomers get into the series. Theyre easier to explain.

Why not? At that price it seems tempting. I haven't played any version yet.

I got it for free from Plus, and the only positive thing I can say about is that the bow was fun to use. It has a horrible cast of characters, story was boring, and besides one area the settings + set pieces were forgettable. If you're on the fence then I wouldn't waste my money on it, but if you have money to burn go ahead and try it for yourself.

Well, now might be a good time to try out the FF series. Which game do I start with?

FFIV or FFX

I know people say Sleeping Dogs runs poorly, but does it run better than it did on the PS3?

Finished it on the PS4 and the 360, never noticed "runs like shit" comments. It's a decent game for $10 definitely looks sharper than on the 360, occasional frame rate drops. Note: 360 version technically was superior to PS3 version.

I know people say Sleeping Dogs runs poorly, but does it run better than it did on the PS3?

It's significantly better than the PS3 version. The framerate does drop below 30 but not by a lot, and in very rare scenarios. And it looks so much better than it did on PS3 thanks to the resolution (1080p vs sub-720p, basically the PS4 is drawing 3 times as many pixels).

Playing it on PS4 in 2014 was one of my favorite games that year, and I gave up on the PS3 version after trying it twice, after how poorly it ran and looked.

No real bugs that I'm aware of, but the slowdown is very real and will get very annoying in later battles. Still probably worth it if you have no other way to play it.

What's the best way to play it? I mean I played it on PSX, but I've kinda wanted to check out the new translation, the slowdown issues I keep hearing about always put me off though.

I'd buy a realm reborn if the thing would even install on my ps4. It's locked to an old account and I can't log in no matter what I do. I'd contact square but it shouldn't be my job to clean up their stupid system. I'm lazy too

Damn, almost want to buy Tomb Raider at that price. Worth checking out for anyone that hasn't played it. Think War of the Lions will be mine though.
