I sense next months list will be a PS2 invasion.

Namely God Hand and Odin Sphere.

I'm expecting this month's list (well... October) will compose of REC:VX, Odin Sphere, Chrono Trigger, Crysis, and God Hand... Of course FFVII will be there.

I don't know, none of the games they released were very popular before, were they? (Maybe Maximo was.) Though the novelty of being able to buy PS2 games on PSN could lead to a spike in sales regardless of the specific games' popularity. We'll see!

I'm shocked so many people think God Hand is going to do well. The thing tanked originally.

Hopefully it does well though simply for the people who love it, much rather see Grim and Odin Sphere do better.

yea, niche games are gonna stay niche, imo. not gonna be huge sellers but at least more people can play them at a good price.

I don't think it will do blockbuster numbers but hopefully it reaches the top 20 since it's pretty accessible now (and there's a decent amount of hype).

Another niche game is BoFIV (I believe most people only played until BoF3?) and it made it to the list. :)

lol @ final fantasy vii being at 10. how could it possibly have sold enough this month with being on psn for ages? was there a sale or something?

Great PS1 game that sold millions upon first release and is highly regarded as many people's favorite FF game is probably the reason it's doing well.

Damn MK, why you so crazy.

MK collection is a sub standard port though. Watch a new one come in a couple years and get even more sales.

Also, I don't think God Hand is gonna light up any charts. I like the game, but I don't think it's going to sell that much.

Burnout Crash @ 13 is an outrage! hideous game.

Not including retail games right?
The list is all downloadable games. No retail. But includes games that are available both on disc and as a download.

Code Veronica X must have tanked BAD.
I've played it before (on Gamecube) and never want to touch it again. RE4 OTOH has always been awesome.

Yeah, Burnout Crash at #13 is an outrage. It should be higher cause the game is awesome.

Haters gonna hate.

I find it weird that it had more ratings than HoD and HoD made it to the list. They came out at the same time. Not saying ratings is my complete basis for sales though.

It's a niche game on a niche service, I'd say it's the perfect place for it to do well. It's not gonna sell millions, but I think it could sell enough to bother the chart next month.

An interesting thing is that many of the old PSN games are in that "PSN essentials" section. Maybe the PSN team is learning to promote and sell games?

Parasite Eve 2? That's an odd one.
I think there was a discount. It's back to 6$ now though. The Resident Evil games are still on sale. They're 3$ now instead of the usual 6$. RE1DC is currently priced at 5$.

Nearly 75% of those games are either years old or ports of games that are years old. It doesn't say much for the chances of all those indie studios that are "abandoning XBLA," does it?

This month's chart should be more interesting, if none of the 'Only on PSN' stuff seriously dents the chart I'd start to get really worried.

It really says absolutely nothing as to what you're trying to insinuate. At all. And all the Only On PSN titles will appear next month. I guarantee it.

Screw you Angry Birds! Rovio and Sony have yet to send me a free copy of the patched version, and I'm certainly not paying $3-$4 to support a company who ripped me off before.

I think people are more likely to insta-rate games they've already played before in some form. If it's new, they'll rather wait until they have some basis to form an opinion (and then forget about the rating system altogether, since it's not as easily accessible after the fact).

cvxfreak says it has slowdown. better than nothing.

More or less than the PS2 disc running on a PS3?

Downloaded it and Dino Crisis. It doesn't look like a PS2 game or anything, but it holds up far better than Dino Crisis or Resident Evil 3 in both graphics and gameplay.

I don't even remember if there was slowdown in the PS2 version, but if there was, I'd imagine the HD port has no more slowdown than that. It's very rare, usually subtle, and it generally lasts a very short time (a second or two).

If you've only played the PS2 version, this one has better lighting and models (and textures?) and the performance is certainly solid enough to warrant a purchase.

don't remember, but apparently it was bugging cvxfreak that he tweeted about it a few times during his sessions. guess they might be slightly worse than PS2 ver.

the reason PS1 & minis sell well is because they have the biggest install base to sell to . PS3 & PSP that's over 100 million potential customers , 80 million PSN accounts

the PSP in the USA right now sell better than it's biggest selling retail games so chances are the people buying PSP's are buying games from PSN , like PS1 games & Angry Birds

Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection is not surprising. MKII was huge on PSN, 2011-release sold more on PS2, vs DC Universe sold great too....heck, it has been a million seller in the US since the SNES/GEN days.

GEN - Mortal Kombat II: 1.78
SNS - Mortal Kombat II: 1.51
SNS - Mortal Kombat 3: 1.22
GEN - Mortal Kombat 3: 1.02

(verifying the numbers just in case they're from that site :p)
[EDIT: Ok, not from them. Their numbers are close; what a coincidence. Was from a list I had around; so wasn't sure. :p]

Add numbers worldwide and it's even higher.

They're still working on the patch to fix the problems with the 'Kollection'; so more details "soon". :p

I'm surprised people are still crazy for the original MK's

I bought it, even though I know they're shit games. My girlfriend likes MK. They're not such terrible games if you only play them with other people.

The PS2 version of RE4 has rock-solid performance, just like the Gamecube version. Even though it looks awful by comparison, I always respected Capcom for making perfect performance the top priority. I miss that Capcom.

Charts like these are the proof to it all, redraw them backgrounds, remake them graphics, remake the game 100 % if Square has to, however long that will take !

IT WILL SELL MILLIONS I TELL YOU ! MILLIONS ! Profit !
;_;, i can only wish...

Even though I doubt it, hopefully this will finally convince Square that they should invest in an HD version of FFVII. I still find myself able to play FFVII from start to finish while on the other hand I'm only halfway through FF13 and have no urge to go back to it to finish.
