ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

Tales from Space :D :D
Explodemon :D

Great group of games up there, nice work indies :)

Surprised to see Fat Princess there. Didn't that game come out last year? or 09? I forget.
July 30th 2009 if Wikipedia is to be trusted. Crazy. I never bothered with it because I figured the online mode (which is the only thing the game has going for it) would be dead within weeks.

Castle Crashers is a monster.

Under Siege needs that patch so I can get past the second level. I'd like to play more of it without being too frustrated.

Solid lists. Needs more WipeOut though. Everybody should buy at least two copies.
Everyone who didn't already own it got it, or at the very least should have gotten it, for free after the PSN security breach.
Though I agree that these people should buy an additional copy, because it's still the best PSN release.

Indie? I know you guys are all celebrating but seriously check out Linger In Shadows at number 9 for "sony published indies." That right there is pathetic.

Some titles im surprised are on the list considering their age, but they are great games.

Also what is the deal with the pub fund, Joe Danger is on the Pub Fund list, so Sony gives developers money to get the game out in exchange for some sort of timed exclusivity for 6months or something?
I assume they make that money back because I can't imagine they are onboard with funding some games for them to arrive on other platforms a few months later if they didn't?

No dead nation? Awwwwww. No BG&E? awwwwww. No Clash of heroes? AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWww. No Lara Croft and the guardian of light? Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Those are neither indie nor Sony-funded/published.

Considering they gave the option of choosing Dead Nation as a free game to every PSN account that was made before 20th of April, I would be more surprised if it was on any of their lists.
And the other games you mention wouldn't be on these lists anyway.

I really don't know if you guys understand the meaning of "indie." Something published by Ubisoft is not going to be on the list (hopefully).

3. TestYourself Psychology (Creat Studios)

Is this any good in English? I got the German version on the Euro store but deleted it after 10 minutes. The Germa translation is outright terrible and renders it completely useless.

Yep, people (including me I must admit) seem to forget that these are all games from independent studios (as in, not owned by a publisher).

Probably none of these games would show up in a Top10 overall list...

But no Dead Nation is strange indeed.

edit:
I bought those (but not all in 2011)
1. Limbo (Playdead)
5. Worms 2 Armageddon (Team 17)
1. PixelJunk Shooter 2 (Q-Games)
3. Flower (thatgamecompany)
6. Eat Them! (FluffyLogic)
9. Linger in Shadows (Plastic)
4. Eufloria (Omni Systems Limited)

Got some more for free via PSN/PS+.

I picked up the demo one month ago and jumped straight into an online game - no queue time whatsoever. Apparently you can play the demo map with people that have the full version.

Linger in Shadows has the benefit of being really cheap though.

So anyway, what PSN games did Sony publish this year? Beause PixelJunk Shooter 2 is the only game on their list that actually came out this year.

Out of them games, I've only bought and played Fat Princess.

I want to play Dungeon Defenders but last time I checked it wasn't on EUR PSN.

Just because a game is a DD game doesn't make it an Indie game. Outland is definitely not an Indie game, just like Shadow Complex wouldn't be.

It's garbage regardless and it came out like 5 years ago. I don't know if it's the price point or the fact that none of these games really sold well at all.

Are you seriously asking that? It costs like, £1.

It's not "garbage" (rubbish) anyway. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean no one else does.

I played 6 out of the top 10 indie, on PSN or otherwise, 7 of the top 10 best sellers and 4 of the pub fund titles.

And they were great on average.

Hey if you like Linger In Shadows just come out say that you like it. I won't laugh at you.

Kinda interesting that Braid made it to the top 10 since it's a 2 year old game. Guess its sale helped?

I believe it's 12 months exclusivity. Joe Danger was released on PSN 18 months ago.

There's also PJ Sidescroller and Infamous FoB. I guess Infamous doesn't count now that Sucker Punch are owned by Sony.

Why they made this game so absurdly difficult is beyond me.

Well, my guess is because Seed Studios is a small studio and possibly not very experienced. Maybe they didn't had a battle of testers. Maybe they tested the game themselfs. A developer playing their own game is not the same as someone from outside playing the game. But I don't know, this is just a possiblity.
I already got the game but I've played only the 1st and 2nd levels, so I don't know if it really is dificult as people say. It possibly is, so much complaints don't come from nowhere.

Just because a game is a DD game doesn't make it an Indie game. Outland is definitely not an Indie game, just like Shadow Complex wouldn't be.

For me the "indie" term is so loaded with BS politics.

For example, take Bastion. It was completely independently developed by a team of 6 people or so, but then Warner Bros picked up the publishing rights and promoted the game. Does that make it not indie? Does it even matter?
