The only time I tried to play FF1 was after I'd finished FF7 in high school, I just couldn't get over how primitive it was so I dismissed it. I'm glad to try it again now that it's being updated

But what do you think the reaction would be if this were announced on the DS? How many times has DQ1 been remade? If a remake along these lines were announced tomorrow what would the reaction be?

DQ1 has only been remade 1 time and that was SNES also DQ1/DQ2 are alway bundled now. these two games being sold SEPARATELY is a slap to the face.

if you mean ported well it's been ported a couple of times (gbc and cellphone are the only I can come up with) but not like FF1/FF2 (ps1, gba, wonderswan, cellphone and PSP)

also when a DQ game gets remade, is a remake in every sense of the word. stuff gets fixed/added and the game receives a graphical overhaul compared to the original version it's nothing like this.

A guy on 2ch was making up a list of how many times FFI was ported & released in Japan and they actually confirmed that this is the 10th time S-E will release the game... in Japan.

Oops, actually "How many" should have been italicized. But I honestly didn't know, but I didn't think it was many at all. Basically, I wasn't sure why you brought that one up. A DQ 1 remake for the PSP would be a lot better than a FF1 and FF2 Dawn of Souls remake/separation. Especially considering it would have just been easier to let PSP owners download and play Origins for the PS1.

^I think there's been a few different cell phone releases of FF1.

Anyway, I hate how generic the game looks. Seriously what the ****. Such a waste of resources and time. Even at a budget pricing later on, I can't see myself buying FF1 again, and playing through FF2 once was more than enough for me thanks.

I brought it up because I wondered if it was just general dislike of the FF games and wondering if DQ1 had been remade/rereleased just as many times, what would the reaction be in that situation.

Basically what I was wondering is if this was the situation: FF1 has been re-released 3 times, this gets announced and BOOOOO. DQ1 has been re-released 3 times, this gets announced and OMGMEGATON PSP WINS AM CONFIRMED TOTAL SEEMS SO WOW

I never hate remakes.

I just get jealous as hell cause the games I want to get remade never gets remade.

Where the F*** is my FF4, FF5, FF6, CT, SOM remakes. Plus while you're at it bring freakin translate and remake Bahamut Lagoon and SD3.

Freakin 0 of my favorite square games have been remade and that encompasses over 10+ games. All I ever get is ports and usually crappy ones too except for FFVa.

At least the next two ports FFVIa and FFTSP looks good.
