PSP Go, Piano Black vs. Pearl White?

Is that a real poster ?, seems a bit risqué.

Anyway I'll be going for the Pearl White.

Yeah its from a set, one has the Ebony woman dominating the White woman and another with both on equal terms.

Shit got shot down pretty fast!

I'd love a white, but since Australia isn't getting it on launch, I guess I have to go black. And back to always wiping it free of smudges before using.

Ah the joys of being borderline OCD.

Having played with both, I've gotta give it to the white. It feels more uniform, the weird warping seen in some of the glamour shots of the black go are invisible and it just feels smaller at that size and the screen seems a little bigger (good, because it's obviously smaller than the awesome-size normal PSP screen).

I do want to take the time to use this thread as a confession of my adoration for the go. I was completely against even bothering with the thing despite whatever on-board storage it might have because I prize screen size above all else (as my poor, over-worked laptop will attest). After feeling the slide mechanism, the better analog nub and the way it sat in my hands, I was totally won over, though. Now I want one, and I want it to be my only PSP. Sadly, that won't happen as preview builds will always be on UMD, so my 3000 will stay in the rotation. Given the choice, though, it's go for me all the way now.

As mentioned before, the Pearl White is very sparkly. If you're conscience about the appearance, the sparkles can give is a dull, calculator plastic look in some lighting but it looks good in most circumstances. The thing to watch it out for is that dirt, sweat and grime can stain it and stand out very easily.

I never even noticed the metallic flecks in it. Under normal light, you probably won't even notice it. Under flash or perhaps sunlight, it might show up, but who honestly cares about stuff like that? Y'know, beyond people in this thread, I guess. Your added point stands, though; my imported white DualShock 3 collects weird grime in the usual spots (sticker on the underside, seams on the outside) and it shows up a hell of a lot more than the black one. I used to think I had rather clean hands, but I was proven very, very wrong. Luckily, the seams of the DualShock are perfect toothpick cleaning fodder. PSP go? Eh, maybe not so much...

If the pearl white PSPgo is anything like the (pearl?) white Sony Vaio, the sparkles are not that noticable in person.

The black looks like a sweet device though

Word. The whole damn thing looks nice. I think it takes seeing it in person and messing with the buttons and mechanics to properly appreciate that it's not cheap feeling in the least. Some people are going to hate the buttons, though; they have amost zero travel and essentially feel like cell phone buttons. The analog nub is better, though, and the shoulders finally have no wiggle, nor do they feel wobbly and weird.

Damn, that's a great shot. I really like the PSPgo design, hope they stick with it in the next iteration.

White, because black is now redundant for the PSP and I think a lot of us want a new refreshing look - not the same old one reminding us of the same old experiences. We want new experiences.

Although the little sparkles on the white looks tacky, hopefully they come out with the "ceramic white" used in Japan on the PS3 line.

If I ever get a Go, I'll get the white. I've got a 1000 and it shows everything. It shows every little fingerprint and dust. I hate it.

This.

I prefer black but with my ipod and psp1000 i end up spending more time cleaning them than using them lol

White. It's gonna be a nice change from my old black psp-1000 and my red gow edition.
Thank god i didn't buy the darth vader one :lol

So does NA finally get an un-borked white psp or am I speaking too soon?

Just import. SCEA doesn't like giving us nice things. (Or SCEJ doesn't let them have their nice things :lol )

black for me :D

The 2 main games I want are GT and FF tactics, so I'm waiting to see if tactics will be released in digital format so I can play it on the new system.

.. or did it? It spread like wildfire on blogs and forums alike after that. It's not the first time Sony does a controversial ad like that, get reprimanded and then let everyone else do the work for them.

Remember the decapitated goat?

Please explain how the analog nub is better? ...Because I'm seriously considering buying a GO due to the potentially better ergonomic friendly design.
I wanna to play ALOT of Monster Hunter Unite on my current PSP-2000 CFW, but my hands are fucking killing me

Please tell me the GO is an improvement!

Dunno if its common knowledge or not but I just thought I'd let anyone in the UK know, Tesco Direct website has them for £199 with free P&P (plus 199 club card points, if thats what u collect), though its in black only! Looks like it could be a limited thing so get on it!

After searching for the whole of half hour it seems the UK isn't getting the white version at launch :(

The important question for me is: Will the screen finish be matte or glossy? I'm really hoping for matte, because I can't stand glossy. As soon as there is a glimmer of daylight you see every friggin object reflected on the screen. It's unplayable. I made the mistake of buying a media player with glossy screen finish.. Never again.

It's obvious if you look at someone holding it;

It's the way the thumb is aligned. With the PSP it's in a position where it will get cramped quite easily, whereas with the go it's pointed normally. If you have big thumbs however the stick might need some getting used to. Still, the design and position is superior.

This is what I was hoping to hear as yeah, I was imagining it would feel something closer to holding a dual shock3. Sure there's no way to completely manhandle the GO, so you'll have to "cauddle" the device as opposed to "griping" it ala 360/Wavebird Controller style ....but this is how I prefer to hold my input devices anyhow.

Looks like I'm probably gonna preorder the white one then...

...
if they announce a price drop lol

Not trying to hate on the Go because I'll probably get one (as long as the screen isn't a scratch magnet), but damn the original PSP still looks so damn nice. The fact that the original design is 4+ years old is amazing.

Oh, and Black all the way.

I like the white model, I think it makes the system pop. The sparkles don't concern me, I thought the Mystic Silver 3000 was going to look horrendous seeing all the PR shots, but it actually looks pretty darn good in my hands I think.
