PSVR Demo is easily the second best demo disc ever made

Off topic, but what the hell - had no idea these were free. Why on earth do they have a Miku VR demo when the full version is free of charge!?! Cheers for the heads up

Full versions of Allumette, INVASION!, the Miku experience, World War toons, day and date VR media players. Tons of stuff...so much stuff

The full Miku experience isn't free, it's a free wrapper that does nothing unless you buy DLC. Which I played today and is awesome, there's way more than in the demo.

This combined with the free Playroom VR (which feels like a $40 title) makes the upfront costs much more bearable.

Yeah, this and the demo disc are such great free/pack-ins for trying this stuff.
And then all the extra content on PSN. It's really nice.

Only complaint is that some of the games have not done themselves justice, the Rigs tutorial included on the demo disk is pretty confusing, where as the tutorial in the final game gives you a much better idea of how to play. VR Worlds only gives you the most boring level from each pack, when the shark encounter and character driven Heist levels are much more immersive.

The EVE demo should have been a tutorial battle of some kind too. It's just a teaser rather than introducing how to play.

My god....I would love if thing keeps updating....so much better than DLing individual demos

Yeah, I already own Bound but more demos will be great.

It's great, but no one beats the PC game samplers.

Look at Game Sampler 2.

AND the demo hub itself was cool, you walked around a derelict spaceship.

The demo disc has a great selection, but the load times are horrible. I honestly felt like I spent more time waiting than playing.

This combined with how short the demos are (which is at least understandable) gave me a really rough first impression (thankfully this impression was reversed once I got full versions of Thumper, Rigs, and VR Worlds).

So in terms of sampling the launch line up: great demo disc.
In terms of being your first experience when you get PSVR: awful demo disc.

(or maybe I'm not used to demo discs, I don't remember playing one since the PS2 era).

So I know this goes against the point of VR, but are any of these games playable... without the headset? Like if I download the demo pack and try to launch it will it not let me and say "PSVR not detected"?

It's probably gonna be a while before I can afford the headset and it'd be cool to try out some of the games in normal TV mode to see if I actually even want to drop the cash on one (which, lets face it, of course I do).

lol wrong

Did Americans get demo discs with Net Yaroze compilations on them? Reminds me of indies. I loved them. Best demo discs ever.

Can't wait to try PSVR, though.

I don't know.... What about the supposed Demos on the demo disk that have no demo? Bound, Superhypercube, and Hustle Kings...

Yeah that's fucked up and should negate this demo disc from holding any title other than 'demo disc with the most demos that can't actually be demo'ed' award.

One thing I don't like about it is the loading times... wish they used the tech that Killzone and Driveclub do with their load times.

and I hate that it takes you back to the main menu after you play a demo..instead of the menu of that demo....but I'm sure that might be done on purpose to have people buy the full games.

Does anyone know if the digital version of the demo, has no loading/better loading....than the disc version?

shit I'd redownload the digital version if that is the case.

Slightly off-topic, but:

- If you download the Hong Kong version of this demo disc, it contains an additional three demoes:

Acs Bannanas: Bow and Arrow shooting gallery with Move controllers
Mortal Blitz: Time Crisis-like game with Move controller support and duck/leaning behind cover
O! My Genesis: Planet management game with move support. You play a god floating in space, with a globe-like planet in front of you. Help a civilization survive by planting trees, killing threats, and protecting the planet from meteors.

Personally, O! My Genesis is one of my favorite VR experiences so far. The scale is amazing and the game is actually very fun. Think Black and White, but much simpler. All three are well worth experiencing though.

- The European PSN store actually has a demo available for SuperHupeCube, but it is separate from the actual demo disc.

That is a fucking ECLECTIC list of games. And all of them are brand new or soon to be released. None of this "game demo from last year to fill disc space" that plagued mag demos during PS2 era. Really gives you the run of possibilities of VR and each games feels very very different.
.

Because VR is an accessory that is only out now and not last year. What's the point of releasing VR demos in 2015 when no one can play them?

Honestly, call me crazy but I could just about say that PSVR has the best launch lineup of any console.
I totally agree with this.
And you guys in the US got a way better disc than us Europeans, I wanted to try GNOG in VR so badly (had a blast with it at E3).

Yeah, the load to the main menu takes too long. But the selection is great.

Cool.
They should add these to the US store too.
I need to try Mortal Blitz one of these days especially then, I think I would love a Time Crisis VR so much.

LOL at the "not debatable" because I think it is up for debate. Never has a demo disc lead me to buy so many games in a week's time span.
