PSVR pre-orders sold out. No more until release.

Doubt the next one will be incremental. VR's moving too fast for the next headset to be a small upgrade.

It wouldn't surprise me if PS VR2 or whatever they're going to end up calling it is being designed in conjunction with the PS5. 4K displays for gaming make a lot more sense when that display is just a few inches from your face, so the next iteration of the headset probably will have a 4K screen and actually need that extra processing power for the two independently generated images.

Got a preorder through Amazon back in March. Still debating on whether to keep mine or try to sell it. Honestly e3 didn't do much to sell me on VR, but I still think that maybe experiencing it for myself would do more than a video could in this case.

I'm usually all over new tech stuff but for some reason I can't get excited over VR.

I would argue it is a bigger moment for gaming.
I hope you're right. I have enjoyed my game time this gen, but as a SP gamer at heart, it does seem like MP experiences are getting the front seat. It would be cool if the biggest experiences are just you passing the controller (or headset) again.

Being able to play one of my favorite series Ace Combat in VR is justification enough for me to spend the stupid money on this. >_>

VR will be a slow start no matter what. Everyone needs to temper expectations.

Well the Rift CV1 sells out as soon as they become available from Amazon.com. The PSVR likewise.

Consumer demand is far outstripping supply. The thirst is real.

A large number of theses will wind up on EBAY, Craigslist, Facebook trade pages, and early adopters dusty shelves.

Yeah, I expect a lot of these are for scalpers. I just can't drop cash on one right now because nothing about VR seems essential right now. I keep waiting to get excited, but I don't give a shit even though there are games and platforms already out there.

Have mine preordered from Amazon.
Was waiting on my Rift to arrive to decide wether I was going to keep it or not.
I am keeping it.

That's an expensive entry fee to be a beta tester. It'll be interesting to see how everything plays out at launch. I'm going to swing by the Best Buys around me this weekend to see if they have any of the demos up before they get too greasy and gross.

I'm not surprised considering this is a shiny new toy and we don't know the stock numbers.

Wake me up at the end of 2017 to see how it's going and then I'll give out my applause.

I'm flipping mine to pay for a Neo, which I expect to be at least £50 more expensive.

The concept is sound but I'm not paying £50 odd to play VR games that are gimmicky and shallow, especially with the climate here being what it is.

I've got a pre-order at Amazon but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep, will wait to see if Neo offers any benefits towards it, otherwise I may as well wait for the technology to improve or the price to drop.

All the PSVR stuff so far has been shown off on current hardware and most impressions were very popular. There is no reason to believe that it won't run well once it actually ships.

Nope local gamestores are already talking about a shortage. (Gamemania shopmanager told me in person).

That would surprise me. Still available in a lot of stores. Could be they can't deliver on launchday though. Would not be the first time. Anyway, ordered 2 ( one for my son and one for myself ) at Gamemania ages ago.

I'll wait for games that aren't just "experiences"

Same. Specifically, I most likely need to see a big budget PvP centric FPS before buying one.

I also want more info before deciding which system (PS4/PSVR vs. Scorpio/Oculus?) I want to invest in, if any. I can see continuing to own both consoles but I'm not sure I'm willing to buy multiple headsets at this point.

There is no chance in hell I'm paying nearly £400 for a "woah this is cool" moment that lasts only ten minutes.

I'll wait until next year when hopefully the price has come down and there's a decent line up of games out.

Lol at the amounts of 'i pre-ordered it but I'll probably cancel it'

.. Fucking pre-orders

I know right, why the fuck would you pre-order it! and then have the nerve to cancel it. You just sat on someone else's chance to own the system and threw it away in limbo, now people won't be able to pre-order them again. I hate people that sit on limited item pre-orders.

I wanted to try it before I bought it, but I guess now I will just have to wait until after the holidays. *shrug*

The only 'proper' game I have played was Luckys Tale, and you know it is pretty awesome. I'm not sure how good shooters will be, but full games are possible now and exist.

I'm ready for that gen 1 experience, flaws and all. Very excited.

We need to get a proper VO:OT (w/twin sticks), an Evangelion experience and Phantasy Star VR. Devs plz get on this asap thanks.

Not only do we not know how many preorder units they are planning on, we also don't know how many in store units there will be. This isn't Sony's first rodeo so I have high hopes that anyone who wants one will be able to get one in a reasonable amount of time.

It would need to actually have a killer exclusive game to do that. It doesn't.
What's PS4s killer app? Or Xbox One's? Or WiiU's? What was the Xbox 360's killer app? Or the PS3's?

I would argue that the idea that you need a 'killer app' in order to have a successful platform is increasingly inaccurate. Wii Sports was the exception, not the rule.

Sounds like VR really is here to stay.

Interesting, I still need to experience VR in some capacity.

You can try it right now if you live in America.

Seriously, this headset is amazing. I would encourage everyone to give it a try before you write it off completely.

Those poor sons of a bitches. I don't want to be the one to tell them that Summer Lesson isn't even coming out over here.

Eh, load your Japanese PSN account and digital download that sucker. It can be done!

This seems like good news for Sony but I'd like to know how many they're actually manufacturing for launch.
