The girl in a black dress that he dances with for a brief moment...

Though I don't care for pop, or kpop, I like the video for it's quirkness. The dance is funny too, at least when Psy does it.

From NPR's Planet Money Podcast

I found it interesting

Are people conveniently forgetting that only a tiny percentage of the world's populace speaks Korean? Don't get me wrong I like super juniors or girls generation or psy or whoever, but there isn't a chance in hell that the airwaves will all of the sudden be full of Korean pop songs.

Spanish I could easily see, same as french or possibly even German due to the sheer quantity of people who speak the languages. Even mandarin has a better chance for crying out loud. I'm nit trying to take anything away from anyone, but there's only so many times you can listen to a k pop song before you remember that you don't have a damn clue what they are talking about...

I don't get why people like it. But then, I don't get why people like most pop/cheesy songs. I like the fact that its beating other chart shit though. I guess at least this guy doesn't take himself seriously, unlike Lady gaga, Rianna and the rest.
Exactly and well said, thats why this video has 4 millions like and I cannot see any other video in the near future will get that amount of likes.

The thing I like about it is that I've been seeing these K-pop nerds on the internet for years, and reading stuff like "K-pop is waay better than western pop music" and I've always been like "yeah, sure, whatever". Now this song came out and they were kinda proven right. So to me, I'm seeing an obscure internet thing become super main stream, which is nice to see.

I'm glad it's beaten Charlie bit my finger in views, I doubt it'll ever beat Justin Bieber though.

PSY will be on Just Dance 4:

Chart-topping track and YouTube sensation Gangnam Style will be available to download for Just Dance 4 next month, developer Ubisoft has announced.

Pricing will be in line with previous Just Dance DLC packs (240 Microsoft Points a song, about £2).

"Gangnam Style and Just Dance 4, I can't wait to see all the YouTube videos," South Korean pop star PSY, author of the song, said.

Many, many more Just Dance 4 DLC tracks will be on the way, Ubisoft added.

"We're dedicated to bringing Just Dance fans access to the music and musicians they love," Ubisoft marketing boss Geoffroy Sardin chirruped. "Our fans were really vocal about wanting Gangnam Style in Just Dance 4 and we listened. This marks the first of many hot upcoming DLC tracks for Just Dance 4."

Gangnam Style is less than 2 million away from 500 million. Should be a few hours from now.

I am a huge metalhead myself and I love this freaking song.

I almost like the Hyuna version better too. Something about the female korean voices, and she sings it in an almost "cute" way. I do like Psy as a performer though, I think he has an interesting singing style. But then, I'm not one to hate on popular stuff just to appear more elite than I really am. Not that I'm saying anyone does that...
Her voice is nothing like that though. She's just mocking those types of girls.

edit: oops, meant to quote radec

I think this just mean that the "Youtube effect" has reached the traditional media.

Anyone from any country can make a music video and become an instant 3 minute celebraty (not trying to down play the production value of the music video here.)

I think as long as the west produces videos like beyonces put a ring on it, which features dancing thats completely bonkers, nobody can tell me something like that has a higher artistic value than that gungam blokes video. Maybe its just me but when I see a video of 3 singers in swimsuits doing the egyptian dance and strutting around like chickens, I don't know what the hell is happening, especially when its awarded best video of the year. I honestly thought the video was some sort of spoof or joke when I first saw it, and the song itself was a load of balls too.

fucking ew. there's nothing remotely enjoyable about listening to her sing that song.

If this song averages another 5 million views/day on Youtube, it'd take a little less than two months for Gangnam Style to overtake Bieber.

He just made passed Eminem/Rihanna for the #3 spot. Current views for top 5 are:

1.Justin Bieber -Baby 790,592,476
2 Jennifer Lopez - On the floor 610,045,812
3 PSY-Gangnam Style 507,412,793
4 Rihanna ft. Eminem -Love the way lie 506,075,498
5 LMFAO Party Rock 492,275,593

Terrible fucking song. That music video with the naked Russian pirate twirling his penis around is worlds better.

You can do it PSY!

I don't listen to much Korean music now like I used to a couple years ago apart from the occasional Outsider but goddamn, this song is so catchy and I can't help but smile every time I hear it.

I didn't even know Kpop was popular over here in Aus until after reading the past couple posts in this thread. Pretty cool.

Hyuna's version of Gangnam Style is beyond awful.
