this is what im looking forward to the most! not having to deal with with port fowarding mess just to host a multiplayer game in 2023!I hope this version has easy to join and play online co-op without the need to port forward like the Quake 1 remaster. Not to mention the cross-platform online.
Quakecon is tomorrow/today on August 10th in Texas at the Gaylord Hotel
It won't look anywhere near as good as the RTX version. It will get the same treatment the original game got in 2021.how you could enjoy the rail gun with a controller is beyond me. wonder how the PC version will look against the existing RTX version.
I used the rail hun while playing on a PS1 no stick controller.how you could enjoy the rail gun with a controller is beyond me. wonder how the PC version will look against the existing RTX version.

TEXASQuakecon is tomorrow/today on August 10th in Texas at the Gaylord Hotel (yes that is the name) and lasts to the 13th. So this makes sense. I am hoping for something new though besides this.

I wish. Life was essentially playing the shit out of Tiberian Sun, doing stupid shit with friends and getting good grades without doing anything. My biggest worry was how to beat certain missions in the Nod campaign. Good times...tell me you are 12 years old without telling me you are 12 years old
Reddit explained this to me: Quake 1 Enhanced is on the normal Steam listing for Quake 1, and it's the same case here. Quake 2 now has a depot called "old_ver" which happened with Quake 1 a day before Quake 1 Enhanced was announced and released. Quake 2 Enhanced was previously rumoured to release on August 11th and this matches up perfectly.![]()
How can you even tell from SteamDB page? It only says that it was updated 2 days ago, which can mean anything.
Quake 2 Remastered' launches later today on Xbox/Playstation/ Switch and PC.
$9.99 / €9,99 / £7.99 & Game Pass

True. The old version should still be made available.I really hate when they go and fuck with a perfectly clean, old game install. They're going to overwrite my classic setup for this game and break my mods, I just know it. I don't want to run the game through their shitty Unity engine conversion. I don't want to download 5GB of garbage "remastered" assets if I just want my 400MB classic Quake 2 installation. Fuck off.
Yeah, on top of that, I noticed after I posted that they essentially uploaded a new build of the game that's currently still encrypted. This could also mean a mere patch, but seeing how it's a 20+ year old game then I doubt that it's gonna be just a patch, lol.Reddit explained this to me: Quake 1 Enhanced is on the normal Steam listing for Quake 1, and it's the same case here. Releasing on consoles. What is this doing that the RTX version did not?

Lol, how does that work with motion sickness? I wonder if they've nailed it for a lot of people. The first time I played Quake on the OG Oculus (it was the dev model, so things have certainly improved since then) I got SO messed up, lmao.Reminder that you can install the original to run natively on Quest2, and it's worth it: https://sidequestvr.com/app/353/quake2quest
