QUAKE LIVE - Official Thread of Quake Revival, OPEN BETA 2-24!

Wouldn't mind being added to the list please OP, watching some of those videos now brings back so many LAN games of Quake, can't wait to get into some classic DM again.

would love to get an invite. but its not top priority, i am sure there is someone else who could have more play time than me. but if there is any extras i'll take one.

I have a friend that wants one of my 2 invites, I will pass the other onto a gaffer.
 
We should also start a list in the OP of people who are in and their username in quakelive so we can add each other to our friends list.

I just wanna get baked, and hit some sick rocket jumps and rail bitches in the dome! Man is this gonna support mods? RA3 rules would be sick, the fact that it has a friends list is sweet too. Can you add favorite servers too? Man I really hope this bring Q3 back, the gameplay is timeless.

I'm glad to see that people are starting to get invites. OP has been updated with requests and a list of those who got in.

There's a good possibility that I won't be able to make the rounds tomorrow and Saturday to update the OP. Perhaps a moderator can step in.

Here is hoping that the invites start rolling(or it just goes public!)
 
If you get an invite, be sure to say something in this thread so the list can be updated, and a person doesn't get like 1-2-3 invites.

Also, try to share them with Gaf members.

I am going to if I get one. Will go to people on the list.

It seems most people get theirs within a couple days...if you don't get it within a week it seems like you won't get it for awhile, if at all. Mine took 2 days from the time I was invited and most people I've seen are in the same ballpark. Don't use hotmail accounts as the email to send the invite to, as apparently Quake Live and hotmail have a tendency not to play nice together.

Alright, I just got an invite for my friend from another guy, so I'll most likely be sending 2-4 invites to gaffers within the next week or so.

theres an irc channel to discuss it between testers, but theres loads of quakecon tournament videos of it anyway so i don't see why you cant talk about the stuff thats already been seen in the videos i.e tweaks to maps, weapon damage etc

Well they do have you agree to an NDA before you sign up, but as bee said, alot of things should be okay to discuss simply because we've seen it publicly. I don't think you can publically comment on anything in regards to stability or technical things you see though.

Unfortunately what I wanted to ask doesn't show up in videos but it isn't a technical secret. I want to know if account names are the only in game name or if players can change their name. The videos may not help because I think that if the account name is the ingame name they would have waved it for qcon or made new accounts at the event.
 
Info for anyone waiting for invites: Supposedly a "batch" went out two nights ago, so another batch should be coming out anytime soon.
