Quantic Dream's next project to be unveiled tonight

I hope the story is better, Heavy rain´s plot was so bad and unbelievable I felt cheated when it finished, but I did enjoy the experience.

There is no other studio i'm more excited to hear about what they are working on next than Quantic Dream.
While i did not like everything about HR, it was lovely experience and demonstrated bold vision by developers. Can't wait to see what they are working on... Hopefully it's that sci-fi game that was rumored.

i loved Heavy Rain as an experience. i want to see improvements.

Agreed, sure the writing had a lot of plot holes, but individual scenes were soooo goood.

Some parts of the game were so tense oh man, really loved the idea and execution of the game, just needs to super polish up the writing and make everything more cohesive as a whole.

I'd like to see what's next. There were bits of Fahrenheit that were brilliant and moments of Heavy Rain were insanely good. It is a shame that his games seem to fall apart plot wise- I'm keeping my fingers crossed for amazingness!

Oh awesome, we'll be seeing it online after all

This will be amazing. I hope it's as compelling as 'the casting' was back in the day
Hopefully we get an insight into what we can expect from the next game

This is the gaming equivalent of Tommy Wiseau unveiling a new project. If you liked Heavy Rain in a non-ironic way, I fear for your sanity. It was laughable in every respect.

Can't wait!!! Really hope it's that sci-fi game with a focus on the love story that was rumoured about.

That just sounds incredible thinking about it

Heavy Rain is perhaps one of my top games from this gen so super keen to see what they are working on and I hope it is something like the quote above

Excellent, I've been waiting to hear about Quantic Dream's next game since completing Heavy Rain: Move Edition. For me, this was one of the best games to come out of this generation. I felt it really took story line in gaming to a new level.

Can't wait, Heavy Rain was the game i loved more to hate, so in a way it was worth the money (like a "so bad it's good", i guess).

Next to the Last Guardian (its problems have cooled my enthusiasm a bit) this is probably the last upcoming game of this generation (that we know of) that I'm REALLY curious about and excited for.

Awww hells yeah, I'm on board. I hope it's something far out and quite foreign in its setting; preferably sci-fi slanted.

Tres excited.

I really really hope Cage and Quantic hasn't been affected by the backlash and negativity from the gaming community at large.

There's so much potential in the way they do games, and especially in their way of viewing games as something that does not need to have "fun gameplay", mechanics, gameplay-loops or any of the typical ludic focused things games have.

They've moved beyond that and are truly pioneering in the field of interactivity, and it is so refreshing to see that in the gaming world today, especially when they release a game that doesn't have you killing dudes left and right, and goes for a serious and grown up tone in their presentation.

If they do it right with their new game (English voice actors, have a professional go over the script and do away with the need for supernatural stuff, they could have a genre-defining game on their hands).

I really really hope Cage and Quantic hasn't been affected by the backlash and negativity from the gaming community at large.

They repeatedly said they had better sales than they and the publisher expected and the game ranked highly in GAF's GOTY poll which I would consider I decent mirror of the gaming community. They don't need to worry and I don't think they do.

So can someone whip up different time zones chart when this even starts so we know? Im guessing mine starts at 430pm but hell if i know if that is right.

i wonder if his work will be better than the entire Stanley Kubrick catalog this time or if he'll just settle on being superior in every way to David Lynch. I mean with Heavy Rain he's already swept past David Cronenberg, with his unassuming writing style and dense atmospheric heft. Pretty sure as one of the most talented game writers in gaming today we should expect no less

This makes me think that Sony is going to hold back GoW4 for E3. GDC really isn't a place where a lot of game announcements happen, so i'm not sure if they'd want to potentially overshadow this game with GoW4.

I liked Heavy Rain. It wasn't perfect by a long shot, but they nailed the atmosphere and despite some drawbacks, I appreciated the fact they tried something different gameplay wise.

If they can get the atmosphere right again, and refine the gameplay, it could be a special game.

Looking forward to it.

Yeah, Cage is just going to show a tech demo though. I don't think we'll get any solid details about this game at GDC.

Vocal minority. HR rated well and did well in Gaf's GOTY voting.

Someone should do a GOTY 2010 re-vote thread so we can see Mass Effect 2 and Heavy Rain for the wretched, festering pieces of shit that they truly are. It totally worked for Metal Gear Solid 4.

*titter*

I loved Heavy Rain, but I think I'd like a new IP better instead of a sequel. If they polish this to a greater extent than what they've done to Heavy Rain it could be really amazing. Heavy Rain smashed their sales expectations, so I'm expecting even higher production values for this and, hopefully, better QA.

Heheh, I usually don't like your sneering posts that much (no offence), but I couldn't agree more with this ironic statement.

Err... it was ironic, right?

I only hope this time Cage chooses to work together with another writer, or just give his ideas to a proper script writer. Now that I think about it, it would be better if he used a director as well.

But it's something that everyone will be talking about if it's as impressive as some have been indicating. It seems like it would be best to just let that enthusiasm build instead of messing with it by announcing the sequel to one of your biggest series.

Not quite. It's like if Tommy Wiseau unveiled a project where he surrounded himself with great cinematographers and set designers and editors and crew, but he still wrote it and directed it and starred in it.

I don't think Quantic as a whole should be blamed for David Cage being a talentless twat. There are a lot of talented people working under him.

Heavy Rain did a lot of things really well, but its biggest flaw was the story. And for a story-driven game, that's... well... bad. I've played manshoots that have more believable plots than HR, and I sincerely believe it's not a very good game because of it.

I hope they bring a writer who understands games on for their next game.
