Quantum Break announced (Remedy's Xbox One exclusive)

I wanted more Alan Wake..... :(

But OK, this looks interesting. Shame they did not show live gameplay. Hopefully they will show more before E3.

Disappointing. The only interesting game announced, and it only means it'll take longer for Alan Wake 2 to come out (a game I'm much more interested in).

The only interesting thing to come out of the conference. I will definitely be keeping my eyes on this.

Hopefully, Remedy will deliver.

The first shot makes me think that you'll be using a time slowing/stopping mechanic to investigate major events, like that exposition, after they've happened. Unless that's just the fire post-explotion and I'm reading this completely wrong.

The second shot looks like the return of Bullet Time™, also maybe hinting that you'll be able to interact with those time stopped/skipping/slowing moments. IDK.

Don't see how anyone can be excited for this when the teaser showed nothing about the game.

I can't believe nobody is talking about this. People are getting excited just by some CG; gameplay is such a far-gone concern that it doesn't even factor into their enthusiasm? (Especially when the scenario and visuals seems like a retread of the same games we've seen in the past generation...)

Maybe the TV show aspect will bring something novel to the table, but I'll need a lot more information to be interested in this. (Probably won't be picking up an Xbox One in the near future anyway, so maybe it doesn't even matter...)

Looks like another generic action game in the billion

Where is Alan Wake 2 ?

Xbox One really has a terrible start for my tastes, no Fable to restore faith in the declining series, no Alan Wake 2, no JRPGs or support from Japan

Cant get any worse TBH

Or, you know, people played one of their past games and are excited for the sequel?

For example, I loved Alan Wake. Remedy developed Alan Wake. Alan Wake is making this game. I am excited for this game.

Looks great.

I love Alan Wake but just seeing a new Remedy game makes me happy. This will make me buy an Xbox One even though I was very underwhelmed with everything else MS showed and said. Unless there's a simultaneous PC release of course..

UPDATE 2: Quantum Break appears to blend a live action TV show with a video game, with actions in one affecting the other. Microsoft's Xbox One press release calls it "a revolutionary entertainment experience... that blurs the line between gaming and TV by integrating drama and gameplay into one seamless, uniquely immersive experience. How you play the game impacts the show, and the show informs how you play the game." Defiance, anyone?

In Quantum Break, our desperate hero fights a highly personal battle to save the future before time literally runs out. As time breaks down, impossible, split second moments of destruction turn into epic stages of time powered action. The actions you take, and the choices you make, shape your experience as the narrative unfolds. As you play, a personalized ‘director’s cut’ of the show is created just for you, based on the decisions you make during the game.

That sounds great.
It's the FMV stuff from Alan Wake more tighly integrated into the gameplay.

'Remedy' and 'generic' don't belong in the same sentence.

Oh, now that's interesting.

I wouldn't mind FMVs if they're fun and interesting, full of good acting, like Mr. Scratch in American Nightmare. But the glimpse we got of the FMV in the trailer has me put off. Full of wooden acting.

Back to the waiting game on Alan Wake 2.
Not to say this doesn't look interesting, it's just not what I've been hoping they'd announce for the past three years.

Would be kinda cool if you play halfway through this game and turns out it's part of Alan Wake 2, similar to American Nightmare.

That was a terrible reveal trailer. Cut all that live action stuff out and put more gameplay please. It was like they were using that tv/game switching feature while they were recording the trailer.
