Quantum Break previews this Thursday?

Alan Wake was flawed, but the gameplay hook/loop and atmosphere was so good I played through it 3 times.

Hope QB capitalizes on AW's strengths and tightens up the weaknesses.

Please don't be another cover shooter with gimmicky powers.

It's early in the morning here and I just got up: This is an image from a cutscene in the game, right? It looks phenomenal.

Don't we have like 0 so far of this in the current gen?

And what would could it do now to not fall into that category for you?

I mean we know it has a cover system, we know you can shoot, and we know you have time altering powers...

I dunno, it looks weird and artificial to me, like your high-end game's cinematic graphics with the slightly angular ears and lighting being off with the too-dark hair sitting right next to a well-lit face. Great-looking but still uncanny valley.

I hear you both. You are being reasonable.

I just want it to distinguish itself in the sense that the powers are meaningful and balanced, allowing for challenging and dynamic play. The AI needs to be really good in this kind of game (ex: F.E.A.R.).

I'm hesitant because what we have seen just seems to be a cover shooter with a character using OP powers. I hope I'm wrong and it's just for show.

They've already stated that AI was pretty much non-existent in the first reveal gameplay videos.

Yeah, it does look great, but then the character he's facing has a rather angular jacket/shirt collar at the bottom-right. Not trying to nitpick, but these things kind of stick out when you're trying to figure out if what you're seeing is in-engine game cinematic or just manipulated video capture.
 
Will keep an eye on this (assuming it eventually comes to PC). Game looks phenomenal but I'm still not sold on the gameplay. I've become averse to slow mo over the years. Yes, I hated 300 for it. I'm that guy. And from what they've shown so far, this is like slow mo porn. Hope to see time altering mechanics beyond that.

Doesn't sound like the AI will be an issue. Only issue I can see with the game is how the TV show stuff turns out, in the gameplay department I expect it to be spectacular.
 
I mean that screenshot looks impressive, but people thinking that was the TV show? Like come on, the hair and a few other factors very obviously point to it not being the TV show.

Either way, can't wait till tomorrow, this game looks great.
