Question for the Diablo 3 players (Torchlight 2)

Not everyone needs to play D3 for months on end to have both greatly enjoyed the experience and gotten far more $/hour out of the purchase than the vast majority of games could only dream of. And who knows, pvp might actually be fun. I doubt it, but it might be.

Pretty much everyone that's tried the PvP demos at Blizzcon has enjoyed it, even heavy skeptics. I'm looking forward to trying it.

I played on normal at first and found it boring... I tried again on hard and I found it way more fun. In fact, after finishing the game I realized I should have played on very hard.

For some reason "normal" in TL1 is really easy, which takes out a lot of the excitement of the game. YMMV though, of course.

Normal in D3 is easy too, but I did not get bored.

Well that's icing on the cake then. I really enjoyed D3 for the time I played and would love for the pvp to be fun.

Not going to bother at full price, even if it is only $20. In beta the skills were boring, loot and gameplay wass poorly balanced, and the artstyle is pretty off-putting as well.

TL2 will probably have an endless amount of random dungeons (TP scrolls, whatever) like the first. After running the same fucking acts in D3 4 times over, that alone is worth a purchase.

I enjoyed my time with D3 but the loot just isn't interesting so I'm done with it. I got my moneys worth I feel, but its over now. TL2 does loot far better than D3. It remains to be seen how they tackle balance, but its a loot-whore game first and foremost, and thats just what I'm after. If there are balance issues, its moddable so you'll have the flexibility to tweak to your hearts content, or just download mods that do it for you.

Really, my only issue with the game that can't be easily fixed is its art direction. But I'll just get used to it. Hell, there'll probably be a mod to change that too.

I'll buy it and play it through, but I doubt I will invest any time in some sort of end-game/trading/PvPing (if any of that sort of stuff is in the game, I haven't really read up) since cheating and hacking in TL2 will no doubt be rampant because it's not client-server.

This needs to be answered.

Bashiok has. In typical humble fashion, he openly apologised to the bnet community with integrity and affection, characteristics that have almost become trademarks of his posting style. The adoration goes both ways on the official Blizzard forums, people have been known to bake him cakes and send money, even composing fanfic of situations where Bashiok, Jay Wilson and the author are embroiled in a ménage à trois atop a steamy Proliant Blade server.

I preordered and am excited for Torchlight 2, but to be honest for all the crap that Diablo III's artstyle has gotten during its development the Torchlight look is really offputting. I haven't really read much about Torchlight 2 but I've played the beta for a bit and gave the Engineer a whirl. The one stark difference that made TL2 refreshing was that the start movement speed is so much faster than D3's, though the presentation of the combat in TL2 is weaker overall. What can I say, I like me some gib physics and ragdolls.

It's a mistake. The source they used for that is talking about Torchlight I. If they are going to bring it to XBLA it won't be any time soon.
