OK, so I haven't turned my Wii on since January or so. I booted it up tonight with a seemingly good set of batteries in my remote, and the remote synced up without any problems.

The first thing I did was grab the latest System Update. While I was doing this, the remote was working fine. As soon as the Wii restarted, my remote stopped syncing with the Wii.

If I press any buttons, it blinks for a long time and does nothing. If I press the red sync button on the controller it blinks but doesn't sync. If I press the sync button on the system itself nothing happens.

Are the batteries just low, or did some sort of weird error occur?

ya i've gotten sync issues on Wii's that haven't been used for awhile on 3 different Wiis while at friend's houses. So, it does happen, and eventually it fixes itself, but it is annoying

I've tried turning the damn thing off, but that didn't work. I'll try unplugging it now.

Unplugging it worked. I'm posting from the Wii now.
