Not sure why people are all going 'omg, amazing!!!'. Looks no different to GTA IV in these screens.
It does.
Vanilla GTA IV looked a lot worse than these new screenshots of GTA V.

Yes they do. A lot of people were also really disappointed by it.

I find this hard to believe but assuming it's true, god damn. Guess I'll have to pick this up.
Well it already looks more pleasant in terms of color and location, but mostly I just need the gameplay to be a step up. What flew in 2008 I don't think will fly today. If they can borrow some combat elements from Max Payne 3 we'd be in good shape.
This looks cleaner, but I could easily see why people would say it looks just like GTAIV at a glance. These pics don't jump out at you like some of the stuff that was grabbed from the trailer. It does.

Yes, WCTR and I forget the other one.Need 2 Talk Stations this time.
Didn't SA have 2?

No? They weren't in RDR anyway, outside of cutscenes.Kids are in the game too, right?
is it still coming out this year?

RDR had plenty of animals though, and GTA5 has dogs confirmed.
Still?
GTA IV had terrible music.
So disappointing after the brilliance of Vice City and San Andreas

Two things I hated about GTAIV.
First is the total disconnect of the story and the gameplay. One minute your main character is regretting his past deeds and the next he's killing dozens of people in his mission. Yet there is nothing in the next story bit about him thinking about what he just did. So the story and the character became completely pointless.
Niko is portrayed as a very down-to-business person, and is very protective when it comes to his family and those closest to him, especially Roman, despite the fact that Roman often gets him into further trouble. During the game, many of his female acquaintances often point out that Niko has sophisticated manners and appears to be a very decent person. Niko also maintains a no-nonsense attitude, and at many times throughout the game attempts to resolve conflicts between two parties without the use of violence. However, he is shown to get angry easily when he is met with irrationally, is falsely blamed or cheated - a trait that might have been aggravated by his past experiences during the war, and he is often quite sarcastic. However, he is also portrayed as a caring figure; the player can have Niko help various random people on the streets who are having problems. Niko is somewhat hypocritical. On one occasion, he consoles Packie and Kate McCreary when their brother (either Derrick or Francis) is killed, although he fails to mention that he was the killer. He appears to be a more mature and sensible person than many of his acquaintances. Also, Niko possesses an ability to manipulate people into giving him his own way — for instance, when Francis McReary is trying to get him to assassinate someone threatening to expose him, Niko simply refuses unless he is paid for his services - when McReary tells him that the target sells drugs to kids, he responds "the world is full of bad people, Mr. McReary."
The most significant aspect of Niko's personality is his cynicism, which he gained in the war. He criticises his acquaintances for expecting him to have fun amidst his troubled situation. Niko's biggest weakness is his inability to let go of the past - which causes him much aggression when the issue of finding his betrayers comes up; Niko is criticised by many of his friends and most notably Roman, for this weakness. Despite that, Niko holds on firm to his belief that one of the main reasons he is in America is to resolve and put closure to his past. Niko also has a prominent distaste for drugs— he regularly refuses Little Jacob's offers of marijuana, frequently criticises Brucie's steroid addiction, expresses disgust for the heroin he deals with, and usually does not drink alcohol (the exceptions being in the cut-scene after his confrontation with Darko and when controlled by the player. Playboy X at one point offers him a drink, but when Niko sits, he simply stares at the glass thoughtfully before putting it down). Along with this, Niko also has a somewhat positive view of law enforcement. He willingly goes to the funeral of slain police commissioner Francis McReary and he also has said that cops are just people trying to survive. He also criticises Roman for prank calling the police because he thinks that Roman may someday need the help of the police. He still has these views even though many of the people around him do not and in some missions Niko can only succeed by killing or shooting at law enforcement.
Though Niko doesn't much talk about American politics, he is shown to have a disliking for American politicians, especially those associated with the Republican Party. This is reinforced by the frequent hypocritical statements made by politicians in-game, but he also remarks that the war gave him a cynical view of all political figures in general. He also dislikes communism and capitalism, as shown in the game's cut-scenes.

2nd is the annoying mission system, where a mission begins in one place and you have the drive a bit to another, and then if you fail you have to make your way all the way to where it started to start again. There was no retry mission option, no check points in the mission so you don't have to redo the whole thing over.
That 2nd one was why I never finished the game. Got sick of doing the same stuff over and over.
Hopefull GTAV fixes all that and if they do I'll buy it.
Vladivostok representing!
The electronica station was pretty cool. (The Journey)GTA IV had terrible music.

I LOVE that station.

I hope you don't like Gravity Rush. I always see Niko as the prime case of this, but playing as Kat, I have sent several children, dogs, and old people hurdling to their deaths in Gravity RushTwo things I hated about GTAIV.

Haha, totally. They were hilarious. And having the lead singer voiced by Kevin McKidd? Awesome. That they invented the band Love Fist which is basically Mötley Crüe alone makes them my favorite game develeopers.
Vladivostok was great as well.
I'd be shocked if it was all three cities from the PS2-era San Andreas. I'm pretty sure it'll basically be a brand new version of only Los Santos. But it sounds like it'll be more expansive than any of the previous single city games. They've said Los Santos and its "surrounding hills, countryside and beaches". Combine that with them talking about how we'll be able to fly planes and whatnot because this is more expansive than something like Liberty City, and a few of the shots in the first trailer that look like they're nowhere near the city, and I'd say we'll end up with something in between San Andreas and IV.So this is just one city from San Andreas right? They're not doing the whole state?
Of course I'd be happy with 3 cities but I'm already super excited even for just one. I've been to LA once It's a pretty big city in general, sprawling-wise. And it looks like there may be some large countryside surrounding Los Santos, I really think this game is going to be massive.I'd be shocked if it was all three cities from the PS2-era San Andreas. Though from that first screenshot from earlier today, the city alone looks gigantic.
