R.I.P Michael Jackson - it's been 2 years

It's been a strange two years indeed. Although I think that his death introduced even more people with the genius that was Michael Jackson, it was still one of the saddest days ever.

My favourite album is Off The Wall, by far, with Thriller a close second. I'm not really into his later stuff although there are a lot of great songs on Dangerous and HIStory. It's a shame that his Off The Wall isn't as well known as the others (one of the most underrated multi-million selling records), because it's such an amazing feat that you can create an own style out of nowhere after having a huge success with the Jackson 5 already. The whole Michael Jackson geniality started there, with all the classic Michael Jackson sound effects. Amazing.

There is only one MJ song that can make me cry though and that is Will You Be There. I want that to play at my funeral, with the choir intro, which is beautiful, and obviously the outro were Michael is speaking and touching your heart like no other artist can. That, and a Stevie Wonder song. I cannot meet Michael anymore and he was one of my two heroes and all of this reminds me that I just have to meet Stevie before he or I passes away because it can happen anytime. The thing that both artists have in common is that they're not only amazing musicians, they're amazing and beautiful people that honestly care for the world. And that is what MJ was as well. He transcended normal musicianship, he was a Messiah and a bringer of joy and that is what many people experienced when listening to his music.

And that is why he will be in our hearts forever.

I'm fully convinced that the Cascio tracks on the posthumous album weren't sung by Michael Jackson. Any doubt I had before is gone now that I've heard these comparisons: http://fakemichael.com/

Well, we all know that the posthumous album was just a compilation of unreleased demo tracks. When you listen to the demo tracks that MJ did, they sound vastly different than the finished product. I think that the MJ vocals are real, however I believe that they went through alot of "studio magic" in order to help strengthen his vocals.

I am not a big fan of his life or music, but I'd be lying if I said the man wasn't talented, and I wish pop singers of today had half his talent.

In the same boat. He crated some great music but as a person I still think he was crappy and bizarre.

Sure, MJ's rough, unfinished tracks are a far cry from his finished songs. But his voice doesn't suddenly take on the characteristics of a second-rate impersonator when production is finalized. Michael Jackson vocals have never sounded remotely similar to the Cascio songs under any circumstances. Did you listen to the audio comparisons at the bottom of that page? The transition between Malachi and "Michael Jackson" is practically indiscernible. Why does the singer in the songs from Cascio sound so much more like Jason Malachi than Michael Jackson? Amateur production equipment doesn't explain this.

Today would have been MJ's 53 birthday. Listening to the Thriller album in his honor!
