Remember those caramelised biscuits in the red wrappers that are served up by many a café with a creamy cup of coffee? Well, this is the spreadable version.

Biscoff Spread, made from original Biscoff Cookies – or Lotus Speculoos as they are known on the Continent - is a Belgian creation produced by Lotus Bakeries.

And with 2,360 calories per 400g container it’s been dubbed “crack in a jar” on social media.

Brb biking down to Waitrose. Will report back asap.

Dam you, that misleading title had me worried for a second, still I might have to try some of this though, I love the biscuits!

It's a pretty popular thing here in Belgium but I think it's kinda overrated. It's all right though.

It's not even limited to spread anymore, you can also buy biscoff sauce for ice cream. Hell, there's even biscoff ice cream. It's a bit much at times.

LOL, I tried biscoff for the first time last year. It is as good as you suggest...but it's even more devoid of nutritional value than Nutella. They're both highly addictive...

No more Nutalla or they just out of Nutella?

Pretty sure this post means you have to give up your Belgian passport.

Please don't ever put "R.I.P." next to "Nutella" again.

Yep. Nutella is of the Gods.

Also Peanut Butter is horrible. I have no idea how its an American staple. Every time I keep going back to take another try at it, I just find it disappoints.

The crunchy version is godly

I'm a big fan of Biscoff spread, but the "crunchy" version is awful. It's not like it has pieces of cookie in the mix (which would be great), it just hasn't been completely ground smooth. It should properly be called Biscoff Gritty.

Peanut butter on toast is awesome. I usually go with butter and then peanut butter as well, because why not?

Speculoos is great, so is Nutella, so is peanut butter.

I think I'll have to try it yet again, the last time I attempted was a few years ago.

American Peanutbutter is horrible compared to the Divine Peanut Butter of Mount Olympus that is

Never heard of that brand, but most supermarkets have about 20-30 different varieties, many of which look like that type of consistency. Looks like the Smuckers All-Natural actually. Yeah, looks like an "all natural" type of peanut butter, but they add vegetable oil and fats. That's unnecessary, to me. Probably tastes about the same as the type I get which is just peanuts + salt.

Much like the first time I tried Trader Joes Cookie Butter (which I believe is the same item, speculoos spread), I spent the next few days thinking about different ways to eat Cookie Butter. It was surreal.

Sounds great. Nutella is a weakness for me on cheat days, but peanut butter is an everyday food for me. I've got about 8 jars of Peter Pan Creamy Whipped at home right now.

You poor bastards in peanut butter-forsaken lands.

Back from Waitrose. There was one jar of smooth left right at the back of the shelf. Tons of crunchy left.

Opened the jar the moment I left the store and ate it with my finger. A few people saw. I'm slim as fuck and on a dirty bulk so no fucks given!

So far ive eaten it by itself, mixed it with milk and eaten it with a shortcake and a cookie.

Tastea like heaven...I have a problem!

It's in Waitrose? I may have to pop along!

Girlfriend bought it and has kept eating it. Last night she made a chocolate cake thinking it would make a great filling for the middle. It does.

I think the cake was just justifying to herself that she should eat more of it.

Contrary to popular belief most of us Belgian people do not eat waffles or speculoos pasta or sprouts daily, weekly or even monthly

OT speculoos pasta is vile, tastes good the first time you try it then within a week you develop a dégoût and never want to eat that shit again.

I'm going to this expensive grocery store during my lunch break to investigate that Lindt stuff!

I don't care if its 30c out there. I want to try it.

Spreads have become the new craft beer.

I can barely count the number of different nut, fruit, and cookie 'butters' that have been showing up on store shelves lately.
