Verdict: Amazing. Seems it's 60fps pretty much locked.

/again.
Also I still don't understand the graphics hype this game gets. I'm way too lazy, but if someone could do some gears2/uncharted2/rage comparisons would be much appreciated. In my mind both those games easily look much better than this.
Edit: And COD4. And COD4 2. Hell i'll even throw in KZ2 for good measure.
It runs at twice the framerate of all those games, except the Call of Duty games. But even then Rage renders at full 1280x720, while COD only does 1024x600, a 33% reduction in pixels.DeadlySchnauzer said:/underwhelmed.

I'm sure there is a reason that basically every single preview says the game looks fuckshitamazing.
With megatexture they should be the same resolution across the board, compression may differ based on storage media.jett said:The usual no doubt(higher-res textures and shadows). RAGE is a console-centric multiplatform game. Carmack said that all three versions will look roughly the same.
Tim Willits / Creative Director said:Development on Rage is going well across all our platforms. One of the great things about the technology, when John started to develop it, he knew it was going to be a multi-platform title so instead of taking old technology and trying to get the PS3 to work with it for instance, he was able to make decisions that made it easier for that to happen. All of the assets, all of the textures, models, maps, animations, sounds, all that is identical across all the platforms. The game logic, the kernel of the core of the game is the same, the big difference you'll find is the render paths because each of these systems have different video cards. So we have a great build server that allows us to make builds for all the different platforms. The biggest challenges we face moving forward is the unique Live or PSN type experiences that we need to do for all the platforms. That's really where you'll find the biggest differences for the game.

I for one like games that rape my CPU (*misses the days when you didn't need any GPU*).NinjaTehFish said:lets hope so....im sick of the newer console to pc efforts that rape my cpu and ignore my gpu.
Poimandres said:Yep. I remember that. The wars between UT and Q3 fans were massive, and even though I was firmly on the Q3 side UT definitely had the upper hand with AI. Which is why the raving about A.I from the Rage demo surprised me.
