Ubisoft Toronto has finished working on its portion of Rainbow 6 Patriots, studio boss Jade Raymond has told VG247′s Sam Clay.

After a core development team shuffle back in 2012, it was reported that Ubisoft Montreal would continue work on the single-player portion, while the Toronto team would handle the MP missions.

The team working on the title is believed to be around 200 strong and while originally thought to be heading to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, it’s likely the game will be released on next-gen – either in tangent or exclusively.

Raymond’s studio is also collaborating on Splinter Cell: Blacklist along with the next Assassin’s Creed release after Black Flag and is working on two of its own IP.

Rainbow 6 Patriots is set to launch this year sometime.

Excellent.

I need playable Ding. I also miss Eddie Price, Dieter Weber, and Louis Loiselle. Clark as Six was awesome. Hell, lets go all the way back to 1/Rogue Spear/the book, and put in Roger McAllen and stuff.

Now this is a shooter I can get excited about. I have not payed Vegas in a very long time but I really miss the sense of team coordination that game had. Something that is severely lacking in the shooter genre today.

So very, very stoked for this ever since the target render video released. Glad to get into the thread before the negativity train rolls in, as well.

I wish we got to play as the guys shooting the Wall Street guys instead of the guys shooting those guys.

Tactical kidnapping and public execution game.

I didn't even know this still existed. The concept was so cool and the very beginning of the proof of concept video, in the kidnapped guy's apartment was genius. I hope stuff like that makes it into the final game and is more than just one scene.

Let the layoffs begin.

Maybe when it under performs, which will be no doubt if it is launched against another CoD. I for one am looking forward to another SP campaign in the R6 universe. The first R6 on Xbox had an awesome SP campaign, especially with voice comms "OPEN & FLASH...... BITCHES" "Affirmative!"

Hopefully it will be a good swan song for the franchise. Can't see any scenario where this performs well.

Please be like 3.

Ubisoft sees to it that no dreams come true. They're more focused on narrative and third-person cover-based shooting, rather than tactics and strategy.

The third-person cover system killed my hopes for the future of Rainbow Six. I'll always hold Raven Shield as having one of the finest coop experiences. R6 Vegas was always meant for consoles and didn't have what made the previous games fantastic.

I am really, really bitter about Rainbow Six. Its a deep root in my gaming history and it pains me to see it, in my opinion, fall into a shitty bland game. I hope this game will maybe due justice to what the series had meant to me, but i highly doubt it. Rant over.

Excellent!
Playstation 4 Next Gen please, DAY1!

R6V/2 were my fav overall shooter, this/past Gen. Battlefields great and all, and COD were once great (COD2) but,
RainbowSix was supreme for my liking.

oh and ofcourse,
putting your own face in the game from the camera, for Singleplayer and Multiplayer is/was FUCKING UNBEATABLE!!!!!!
I wish more games had've included that feature. FUCKING UNBEATABLE i said!
