Rainbow Six Siege Open Beta Delayed - Retail Launch in 6 Days

Played on PS4 yesterday and Terrorist Hunt Matchmaking was fine and connections had no issues. But couldn't get into a single game of the regular PvP. Could be their matchmaking algorithm or something else...

I don't know but the ps4 servers for siege are in prolonged maintenance

No that is referring to the closed beta maintenance schedule. Open beta is still TBD (lol) and they will update the status 10 am EST tomorrow.
 
What in the fuck? Game shoulda been delayed into Q1, the closed beta had great gameplay, but the matchmaking was an absolute mess.
 
I guess it is not unusual for a multiplayer focused game to be beta testing 6 days before launch....but what is unusual is that it is still in closed beta and release build essentially will become the open beta
 
Playing on PC, it's a lot better now. There are a couple games here and there with rubberbanding, but at least I get into matches relatively quickly. Yesterday was awful
 
The hell? I was playing the Beta yesterday and the little I played, due to it being a day early and so not many people on yet, felt fine. This is concerning, glad I had the common sense to avoid preordering it, even if that steelbook is sexy af.
 
Been playing the closed beta all night and its been running way better. No wait times, no crazy lag or bugs. I think Open Beta will be great.

I have no idea who "all of us" are, but my experience: it doesn't work properly. It takes over 30 minutes to find a match. Keep in mind their own forum suggests people can't get on - and they pulled their own beta just before launch. Maybe, just maybe, people are having problems.
 
I played yesterday after the 90 minutes of maintenance in the xbox one version and no problems.Find a game in under 1 minute.

Yeah, I just tried it again today - multiplayer is matching fairly consistently now, however Terrorist Hunt is intermittently getting stuck at "Joining session" again. It feels like when they take the servers down it works better for a few hours afterwards anyhoo.
 
Worrying with retail launch so close. I hope it doesn't affect the interest in the game too much because it does look interesting
 
There was supposed to be a status update today at 10 EST. Guess it was postponed too.
 
Dang do they update the xbox/psn store on holidays? I'm not buying the game but i would like to play it...

Game has terrible analog settings. I can feel heavy aim acceleration and maybe even input lag (this is questionable though as sometimes acceleration can feel like lag on the backe-end).

Yeah analog settings are abysmal imo. An acceration slider(s) would fix it though.
 
What's the big deal? Just play the single player while they work on the multiplayer. That's what I did during Battlefield 4 and MCCs shitty online launches.
 
Frame rate was dipping at the start of a match, might just be the player traffic cluster

Not really feeling the button options scattered on the bottom of the screen, Vegas 2 had your options on a single button with your options such as thermal, gernades, silencer at your disposal kinda like MGSV

It took a minute or longer until the weird connection errors went away (and it tells me my NAT is strict when it's NAT) very weird stuff.

And after a match it just kept loading and loading....

good times.
 
This is the most boring thing I've played in a long time. I've been a Rainbow Six fan since 1998, but this is like gaming Ambien.

It definitely is not worthy of the name Rainbow Six. Still sad that they just canned Patriots. Could have been awesome, it certainly was controversial and a original concept. The glory days of the amazing PC games Rogue Spear and Raven Shield, to just name two are long gone. But hell...i would have settled for a new Vegas type game too, not Vegas 2 but more like the first one.
 
Not a fan of the controls. Feels very floaty, probably due to the acceleration. Makes it harder for me to aim with a controller. Why devs decide to make their games control poorly I will never understand.
