Ratchet and Clank PS4 unveiled! (PS.Blog)

Sign me up! Love this series, hope there is some side quests/missions that differ from normal combat, ala rail racing or those boot things he had in Crack In Time?

Yeah I take it back, they showed gameplay too.

It's clear where Sony's focus lies and its definitely nowhere near Ratchet & Clank. Heck, they aren't even making the movie. Talk about confidence. Third Party is the main Party for E3 and even they revealed their stuff already. #PreE3istheRealE3

Loved Sunset Overdrive and am now really interested in this.
Doesn't hurt that it's so pretty to look at...
 
Nice to see some bonafide excitement for the series
on page 1, at least...

Based on the trailer, looks like this is hitting a lot of the sweet spots from previous games, in terms of game mechanics and scenarios. Can't wait.
 
do we know if the this game tell the same story as the movie? as in the cutscenes for the game is something that could have come straight from the movie?

and holy shit, the game look even better than I imagine. image quality is amazing, unless this is one of those bullshot gameplay vid with way better AA and everything. man I hope the real game look as good as this trailer.
 
I've only ever really played ToD and ACiT and loved them, but never played any of the others. I might pick up the HD trilogy on PS3 since it's on offer at the moment but part of me wants to just wait and go in with this one. It looks fantastic.
 
We ended up with a new game, with elements based on the original — but now with modern controls, several new planets, new and updated gameplay segments, all-new Clank gameplay, all new boss fights, new flight sequences, and more… all constructed to take advantage of the graphical prowess of PS4. Throw in James Arnold Taylor as Ratchet, and you have a new beginning.

Yes, new planets and updated controls! I'm totally ready to start the Rachet&Clank journey over again! Hopefully even a trilogy. It's nice with a fresh new start and it seems really fun.
Much looking forward to this and the movie!

Well... it's their IP and theyre paying for the game and probably the movie.
So yeah, they care.

Yeah man its not like his game has a whole freaking movie.

Oh and I guess they dont care about UC as well or no one cares about Fallout 4;.
 
Looks fucking great, as Insomniac games usually tend to.

Hopefully it's as dense as A Crack in Time. What a game that is.

To be fair, Street Fighter: the Movie: the Game wasn't so great lol

But yeah it's based on the movie which has the writer from the games. And the very devs that created the game are making this. I'm not worried about the game's quality

Yeah... same goes for the Fallout franchise. Goes to show how much Bethesda cares about this franchise, that they won't even show it at their E3 conference. Pre-E3 reveal only! Megfail!

There was a time when the R&C fatigue was very real. That time has long since passed.

Seeing this footage has me so excited for another R&C - I've really missed that kind of fun, colorful, and fluid gameplay. Excited to return to that world. Been such a long time since playing the first one so this reboot is a great idea for new fans and old.

I think the movie and game will look pretty similar when it comes to visuals, making this one of the greatest tie-ins ever.

Is this being done by Insomniac themselves by the A team, or is this being given to some other studio or a B team?

Either way it's sort of...sad that Insomniac can't get away from this series. I enjoyed the Resistance series, and GAF loved Sunset Overdrive. They are clearly more than a 1 trick pony, and they should just let R&C die already or until there is a huge want for another one. ND left Crash and Jak alone...now people want a sequel to either BAD.
 
Game looks amazing though I can't help but feel a bit sad that a 60fps franchise is going to be running at 30fps.
 
Man, I knew this was a re-imagining but those areas are indeed ripped right out of Ratchet and Clank 1. Not just loosely, even the bridges and level design look the same. The nostalgia is strong.

It looks so fucking gorgeous. Like wow, why isn't this being shown off?
