Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time announced

Isn#t it two team working on different titles? So basically every game takes 2 years. They totally tried another dev process for R2 though.
What did they do for R2? Whatever it was, I hope they don't do it again.

TOD was fucking amazing looking, almost CG like and fun to play. Will probably pick this up.
Speak for yourself. ToD looked like an hi-res Ratchet 1/2/3. Everything looks like plastic including the terrain like rocks and grass.

Do a rough version of the whole game and then just polish it and try to make it work. That's why they could show it early on.

This. I have no idea what's up with the hype behind ToD's graphics.

I don't think I've ever seen so much mixed love and hate. I thought Insomniac was generally one of the more well received developers, but I guess not on GAF :lol

This is amazing hopefully they include sidequests and more post game stuff, lol. And more of those hilarious cutscenes. I wonder what will the English name be.

The title looks english to me....

Much better subtitle this time.

Future: Tools of Destruction is too long

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

It's close.

Again, the lack of Future is because it's a European press release...

Think this is one of Keighly's exclusives?

I'm kind of hoping that this PR went out today means they're planning to show it at GDC today.. strange there hasn't been a peep from anywhere else at Sony, but the PR doesn't look like it went out early, it has the right date etc.

I'm a little disappointed if it's only a solo game, I expect some online feature, like some coop or something.

Anyway, time travel and space exploration sounds pretty nice.

I would like some sort of co-op or multiplayer.

Having trophies in this one will be awesome. I just wish they'd add trophies to their old games... :(

WP has a pretty good translation, wonder if they got their hands on the English PR...

Concluding the events that began in Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction and Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time will answer some of the franchise fans’ biggest questions. After discovering that lovable robot Clank’s disappearance was engineered by Dr. Nefarious, the Wrench-swinging Ratchet races to save his best friend. Along the way, both will finally uncover the hidden truth behind their origins, and discover their ultimate destinies. As the duo come closer to reuniting, they’ll have to ask themselves the biggest question of all: Do Ratchet and Clank’s destinies lie with each other? Or is it finally time for the universe’s greatest duo to separate for good?

If you haven’t played Ratchet & Clank before and are new to this successful franchise, prepare to be immersed in hilarious action-packed galactic capers and discover how time travel will entertain you in ways never before experienced.

Powered by Insomniac Games’ fourth-generation PS3 technology, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time will continue to bring the experience of playing your own computer generated animation movie to PS3. Expect all the laughs and witty banter of a Ratchet and Clank title, as you enjoy all-new space gameplay that gives players the opportunity to engage in space battles, explore the surrounding star system, and discover hidden items and collectables.. You’ll come head-to-head with a brand-new cast of baddies, and some old favourites, and obliterate them with cool new weapons and abilities.

Get ready for a brand new time-bending, laugh-out-loud adventure when Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time arrives in stores in Autumn 2009.

This alone excludes you from further visual discussions on GAF.

As promised, Ratchet and Clank are coming back to PS3 this fall. Continuing the story from where Quest for Booty (pictured) left off, Ratchet is on a mission to save Clank from the evil Dr. Nefarious. Through the time-traveling adventure, both of our heroes will discover secrets about their origins and their destinies.

No specifics have been revealed on price and distribution, but we believe A Crack in Time will most likely release as a downloadable PlayStation Network title at a budget price. (Quest for Booty launched at $15.) We've contacted Insomniac Games for more information, so stay tuned.

Yeah. I think some parts looked a lot better than others, but the games best looking planets are still some of the most impressive graphics on the PS3.
