Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time announced

Am I going crazy, or does the art style look a little more pixar-ish than R&C Future? I don't want to say the game looks more cel shaded, but the colors seems brighter, the characters more distinct, and the animation taken up another notch. I like it.

That is all that needs fixed but it still looks great when those formations pop up under a dead body and flings it in the air.

The ground leaves alot to be desired. It just looks barren. With all the help Insomniac has given to studios like Naughty Dog, Guerilla, and Liverpool, it would be nice to see some things like motion blur, DOF, etc. I am a HUGE Ratchet fan and own every single Ratchet ever made, and both Resistance games. I just want this game to be the best ever.
 
I would like an open world Ratchet but broken down into different worlds but then again they said time travelling. When is more footage going to be shown. at E3?

Is EVERYTHING for Sony's E3 being shown ahead of time? I'm happy to see more of this and it's looking great, but I just realized that the only Sony project we're pretty sure of that we haven't seen anything of (correct me if I'm wrong, since I very well could be) is Starhawk (hoping for Ender's Game Battle Room game meets Warhawk meets Mario Galaxy meets Dead Space meets Freespace).

It looks amazing, mad props to the art team.

The art style is much better. It's more cartoony. It looks imaginative and expressive instead of dull and 1993 era CGish.
 
Wow, wow, wow. Looks awesome and lots of fun. The water is amazing. There's something about the graphics rendering that seems different to Tools of Destruction but can't really put my finger on what it is.

Looking forward to screenshots and more footage. This game is going to be so much fun.

Like I said, the lighting looks like it's got an upgrade, that and the shadowing was what was missing in Tools of Destruction, imo the new game looks significantly better, the colors really pop out at you.
 
Somehow, i have the feeling that the graphics look slightly more "cartoon"-alike compared to Tools. Also less sterile shiny computer generated but more organic and soft. Does that make sense?

Insomniac, can't you pre-release one screenshot now? :)
 
Damn I forgot how good R&C: Future looked! But wow the new stuff looks even better.

Insomniac give us a R&C Trophy patch puleeeze so I can justify playing through it again! Naughty Dog was able to patch their game. Are you going to allow people to go gossip about how ND is a better dev than you? Huh?!

I'd keep your eyes on GT and maybe even IGN today.

Call me crazy... but i have the feeling that the Insomniac guys love Ratchet much more than Hale... :lol
The art direction is great. So hyped for this.

Looks great J, be sure to keep sending props to the art team!

I love the use of colour. Really makes the game stand out more as a whole, the models look far less plastic-y and more cartoony. Everything blends in really well together to give it a more cohesive feeling than ToD and QfB.

The fur seems looks pretty rad too, I can't wait for some higher quality pic/videos.

What I really love about the level they've shown, is the lack of script. It seems like pure gameplay, it's not like the scripted intro level or ToD, or the huge chimera in the Chicago level. Here we see a pretty big opened area, we see boots that will allow us to move faster, and I really love that. Scripted shit are nice at once, but there's no "replay value", the giant chimera would have certainly impressed me a lot more if I had discovered it while playing instead of watching it at E3 and raging about the lack of "real gameplay".

I haven't missed a game in the entire series, and each one I've played through more than once. It's one of the few series I enjoy based on single player alone due to the replay value, so I hope they keep that up.

ToD was a bit hit or miss as far as the look of the levels, but whatever they did here (and changed from previous versions) looks amazing.

After this Ratchet ,IG should make a new IP.

Pretty sure it sold damn well considering the smaller install base. My guess would be better than Deadlocked and just under or around Up Your Arsenal sales...though I'm sure JS could clear that up.
 
It looks kinda neat. I grew tired of R&C on the PS2 though...hopefully it has enough new-ness for people like me. :P
