Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction Official Thread

Hey jstevenson, I got the review version on debug and the game crashes when going to the third planet in challenge mode. Do you or other Insomniacs know anything about this bug...?

Thanks for making awesome games guys, I just finished Resistance yesterday and it made me want to play Ratchet badly (will be my first one!).

The review code isn't quite the final code --- I believe we knew of a bug like that.

Never fear, taking post-production time is a standard part of our year, and people go in shifts to ensure work flow isn't disrupted. :D

I agree. Throwing rumors just before vacations is like one of the best things in life.


btw, what was all this discussion about karting in the last podcast ? I felt like I missed something <_<
 
finish the demo, it was fun, looked great.

did notice some slow down, the frame rate seemed to drop several times,
noticed it more than I would have liked to.

the combat was fun

i liked the railing

demo was unexpectedly short


there was some problems with the A.I., I would go attack some baddies, but if I retreated, they wouldn't follow me, this happened right at the start of the demo

im looking foward to renting this from gamefly

i rented one of the R&C PS2 sequels and really liked it, but I had to many PS3 games to play.

JS, you should hold some kind of event here on GAF the day before R&C comes out :) and give away those awesome posters you gave away at PAX.
 
Just wanted to comment how incredible this game sounds as well... Between voices, soundfx, and music, it's incredibly refined in 7.1 goodness... So crisp and clear as well... It's totally immersive in the city with the traffic and bullhorn annoucements on Ratchet's where-abouts... This is one of the most incredible sounding games ever... I thought Resistance was good, this is even better...

I have played the demo quite a bit and I have still not managed to spot or create slowdown. Well I might not have noticed it perhaps. I did start noticing aliasing as I looked for them. Then I couldn't unsee them. It's very micro and minor though and that's what I get for looking for them.

When the fuck is Orange Box coming out on PS3? If my PC was working Portal would have been mine. Waiting for it is excruciating, especially with all of the memes floating around.

When people say slowdown and Ratchet and Clank in the same sentence, they mean 50fps instead of 60fps. TTP approves of the frame rate. That should lay all frame rate concerns to rest.
 
I don't know if this has been answered or even can be...but approximately when will Insomniac announce it's next game?

Within a month of Ratchet's release?

Within 2007?

Q1 2008?

Something vague would be fine...I'd just like an idea of when we can expect to hear.

that dino level looked awesome. so open ended.

are those gel / platforming sections going to be pretty frequent? i hope so, looked interesting.
