I gotta stop updating the OP with all the latest reviews, gonna let MetaCritic take over. There's just too many for one man to handle. lol

So my local Gamestops are all saying the 30th. Is this going to be a game we can just go pick up at BB tomorrow or will we need some kind of mom and pop slip-up?

The game is not street dated so you should be able to walk into the store and get it if they have received there shipment. Also, if they tell you that it is the 30th, tell them to check the computer because it was moved up. The computer will say the 23rd as the ship date.

err guys we got away from that for almost 2 pages, lets just talk about the game.

Ok no more 1up posts guys! Its behind us now, and people are getting their hands on the game. Lets focus on Ratchet & Clank now. :D

yeah, even the gamestop website was moved to the 23rd. They should get it even if the employees are bricks.

I've called everywhere, and they all say in the morning now. ><

Although one guy at EB hinted he had it but refused to sell it because it has a street date. Of course arguing with him that there is no street date was like trying to win an internet name-calling contest.

The dumb bitch at Wal-Mart couldn't even spell Ratchet... getting me a copy was a far stretch. :lol

Once I check out reactions from the GS review, I'm going to bounce out of the topic until it's in my hands.

Good job on the OP & keeping it updated! We appreciate it!

If you think this:

Furthermore, the move to PS3 has been good to our lombax pal. Levels are huge, detailed, and beautiful, and Ratchet himself is now noticeably furry -- a nice touch. Of course, the PS2 games looked so great to begin with that it's harder to find that huge leap that some PS3 games can offer; Future looks fantastic, to be sure, but I experienced only a few of the "holy crap" moments that make one pause and think that the PS3's abilities are really being pushed.

...means I don't think Future looks better than past Ratchet games, well...I'm not sure how to help you. Perhaps this?

And you know, some of you folks are getting so frothy that I did briefly consider writing a blog post or something, but...I dunno, if this says to you "Joe doesn't see a difference between Future and Up Your Arsenal," well, I kind of have to assume that reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, so I doubt writing more would help.

I'm more curious if all the rest of you found the story as unsatisfying as I did.

I picked up a copy today at WalMart. It has an update for firmware 1.94 on the disk. Gotta go play :P
damn wal-mart seems to be the way to go. Amazon hasn't shipped it yet, and im not sure when it will show up tomorrow.

Edit: awwww Joe, i hoped we moved past it. :p

:lol :lol :lol

Captain Qwark just called my house telling me that Ratchet and Clank was comming in tomorrow afternoon.

best preorder call ever and it easy beats Reggie calling me to tell me the Wii was comming out.

im glad I got it on my answering machine, I have to hear that again.

For reference: I'm in NE Iowa and my Gamestops also said tomorrow still. I called Wal-Mart and the guy said it was in. The copies of R&C were on the shelf already.

makes be wish i could cancel my order now after i checked. Walmart is usually a no show on release dates. Think im out until i get a copy.

Captain Quark just called me too!!!:lol :lol

That was the best pre order pick up call ever! Hell, I listened to it twice! Insomniac Rules!!!

Anyone else get their call from Captain Quark at Gamestop? It was pretty cool.

EDIT - Beaten, but really cool. Seems like tons get the same automated calls at the same time.

You know, maybe your writing needs work if so many people mis-interpreted what you meant.

Just sayin.....

Yeah I figured you missed it, thread is moving real fast. I just wanted to let you know what js said.
I appreciate it, though he pretty much gave me the same statement. Many kudos to JS.

I think that's quite insulting; it seems quite a lot of people wrongly interpreted what you wrote.
I've yet to comment on this matter or any reviews but I agree with you on this one.

Captain Qwark told me my copy would be beamed into my brain tomorrow afternoon, he was quickly corrected by the Gamestop staff to say that in fact I'd have to go to the store myself to get my copy, and then commented on how our technology is so primitive.

Great little promotion there, first time I've ever grinned through one of those calls (or listened to the whole thing).

What does it say?

It was a "pick up your preorder" message, but way different from the usual recordings...and pretty funny, too!

I tried to record it (pressed 2 to replay it) on my PC, but unfortunately couldn't get a really clear recording as I was not really prepared for the task. Maybe someone else has gotten a good quality recording!

Thank god Insomniac is beaming a copy to my brain. I didn't feel like driving to the store anyway. (Props to IG for a hilarious collaboration with GameStop on this one, you guys rock)

:lol :lol :lol Schweet! The intarnetz wins again!

Just ordered my copy from Gamestop. I'm a few days away from finally finishing Oblivion, so I can afford to wait.

I'm really anticipating it though. I mean R&C:F is one of the most groundbreaking games of all time with the Pixar visuals and all :)

Yep, this might be the first telephone promotion that I've actually liked. It doesn't hurt that I'm a fan, of course.

Seriously. But you know, critics are of course above criticism.
