I just thought of a really easy and obvious fix. Just delete the Ratchet and Clank demo.

Does any one know how little space you have to have for this message to pop up?

Regardless of Gamespot's review, I picked this up at lunch. Crazy thing is that I completely ignored this series last gen. I don't know if it seemed kiddie or it got lost amongst the flood of PS2 platformers, but that demo absolutely sold me on the quality of not only the visuals, but the gameplay. I loved it and played through it a few times.

I had fun with it, simple as that. I'm looking forward to digging into more of that world tonight.

Well if you have a (any) demo downloaded but not installed it will give you the error, by what JS said. As for space I don't really know but I heard something about clearing 500mb if you get the message, and then you should be fine, tried searching for that post but I couldn't find it.

Just picked this up during my lunch break and I'm dying to go home. I originally didn't think I would have been able to get this day 1 because of the fires going on around here, but since the fires shifted, my area's pretty safe and I can give my PS3 some Ratchet lovin'.

I could be wrong, but I thought JS said that the uninstalled demo thing is NOT the problem.


There is an error in the math when calculating available HDD space. This error only miscalculates on certain values. To fix, either removing or adding approximately 500MB (and I would assume, any multiple thereof) will move you to a value that is correctly interpreted by the errant code.

I completely ignored this series last gen.

I didn't ignore it, I knew it was a quality made game, it just wasn't my bag. I preferred Maximo and Sly Cooper to the R&C series on PS2 because I just like to keep my platforming and shooting separate (3D anyway).

That being said, I'm really thinking about picking this up because it's really the only next gen platformer so far and I don't think we'll be getting Sly or Maximo anytime soon. I'll be there for Mario day one, but with the reduced selection so far this gen, I think I can afford to play both.

Also, I hate for my PS3 to sit around with nothing to do but fold. I picked up Okami finally and tried playing it but even with the upscaling it looks pretty horrid on a 50" HDTV. The art is great but they've got some kind of blur filter going on and it makes me feel like I'm going blind. I have to stare at something else in the room every five minutes to remind myself I can see clearly.

Could someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check in the demo if they have aliasing on the quark statue on the left side there the lighting is and very little aliasing also on ratchet himself. It seems to be perfect with L1 but if I just stand there and watch him I can see some aliasing. I just want to know if I have this pixealtion issue or not...

I think code that was sent to sites has a bug with those two levels, the final code doesnt have it.
