Not really my type of game but if the gaming landscape keeps being this barren might pick it up. 8 months after launch, such a long wait.

Well PS5 PSN is crazy fast for me (A big upgrade from PS4 PSN), like 500mbit down on average so maybe I should give it a try or is the PSNow speed unrelated to the PSN content download speed?
There's a free one week trial. You can test it at no risk.

Stacked with what?

In the 25 days between April 30th and May 25th you've got Pokémon Snap, Returnal, Resident Evil 8, Mass Effect Remastered, Deathloop and Biomutant.

Here comes the part where someone tells me that isn't "stacked" because those games aren't already certified 90+ on Metacritic in advance.

A Crack in time and tools in 4k, i'm down with that.

Not sure why Sony stopped the remastering train early after ps4 launched. Hopefully we'll finally get those ps3 collections since I don't have a ps3 unfortunately

I replayed Crack in Time within the last couple of years, and its still one of my favourite games of all time, I just love so many things about it, I really loved moon challenges. Was going to do ToD but I played the PS4 Ratchet instead, definitely down to play that again.

I think those games are old enough that you could literally just whack them up to 4K and 60 (originals are 30fps I believe) and it would be a massive upgrade with no redone assets (Maybe skyboxes and 2D elements could be touched up if they look particularly crusty at 4K), remake in new engine would be amazing obviously but thats probably too tall an order.

Doing that challenge in CiT where you can't be hit at all while you fight all the mini-bosses + other enemies together was such a fun challenge for me, you could even cheese it by using really upgraded guns but it was still tricky in parts even with that.

Finding the parts for the Ryno is always fun too, great reward for the end of the game where you can just smash everything in sight. The Ryno IV in ToD was really freaky with its red "death beams" and I loved how it was REALLY OP even for a Ryno, while the Ryno V in CiT was great with the classical piece that played when you fired it.

Yessssss! I want it inside me!

I don't seem them releasing GT7, HZD, GoW 2 and FF16 all in late 2021. Overkill especially if they still can't keep up with PS5 demand. One or two of those games are 2022 no doubt.
Most likely God of War is early 2022.

I can see FF16 in September, GT7 in October, Horizon in November, God of War in February-April 2022.

Slow PS5 production means less sales for exclusive games, maybe they waited for a date where they expect a steady flow of hardware on the market.

I'm with you! Thank god these are all short games that I can finish quickly:

1) A roguelike with possibly endless replayability.
2) A 10-15 hour game that I will probably repeat 5+ times before putting it down.
3) A game where the goal is to replay the levels loads of times (Maybe like nu-Hitman?) and perfect routes and methods.
4) A big (?) open world game.

Game director Marcus Smith confirms the female lombax's name in the PS Blog post.

"And yes, we know you are asking for the new Lombax's name. And it's not fair that we put her in the art and aren't telling you yet. Hang in there, you'll be feeling rosy soon."

so are Ratchet & Rosy both playable?

Heres the thing FF16 was never confirmed for 2021. I think GOW2 is delayed till 2022. Horizon 2 will be the main game for this Holiday.

Ratchet: Q2 (June 11)
GT7: Q3
Horizon 2: Q4

GOW2: Q1-Q2 2022

FF16 seems very far along. Likely aiming for fall 2021 release but who knows.

Seems to be PS5 exclusive because I feel they would have announced a PS4 version by now.

From the blog:

"... Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, is a showpiece game and exclusive for your PlayStation 5 console."

I don't know if anyone else spotted this but I think you can maybe see the other-dimension-version of Clank on a poster in the trailer:

I've marked the point but if it doesn't jump to it just skip to around 1:52 and pause. You can see sort of wanted posters on the wall, one looks like its a wanted poster for "Lady-Ratchet"/Rosy and so I thought the other might be "Lady-Clank". Its kind of a a "feminine" looking robot is all I'm going on. Not sure who the one at the top would be though:

I could see GT7 early fall and HZD mid winter near the end of the year thus pushing God of War Feb-March 2022 and FF April-May

The same gameplay loop they've been showing for eons... LOL.

Choppy little levels for the sack of a crappy gimmick... yea that makes real sense.

I LOVED the PS4 remake of R&C but it's not worth full price, I bought it with a very deep discount, these games aren't Mario quality, hell they're not even Banjo quality. But they're fun, but you can fudge almost any of the encounters and the boss designs are pretty simple, the story... HAH story?

They're a little behind... if June 11th is "launch window" now I think we are stretching... but that's OK. June is fine with me for this one.

As far as the others ...

Guerilla made launch with PS4's Killzone... the only reason I have the slightest hope I could be playing Horizon in the fall.....

GT7... I highly, HIGHLY doubt.

It sort of looks like a close up of Dr Nefarious.

Maybe in the other dimension Female Ratchet and Clank are also villains?

Its only on PS5. Same with Returnal & GT7.

Hate to be the one to point it out..but the latest Returnal trailer clearly specifies PlayStation 5* exclusive at the end...this Ratchet trailer ends with just 'Playstation' exclusive.
So..dont be surprised if its another Miles Morales situation.

Still think GoW 2 hitting this year?
Nope
Personally, no, I don't. I have been expecting both Ragnarok and Horizon FW to get delayedd to 2022, but we'll see.
I agree about HZD being a 2022 release and GT7 is most likely going to slide into the Fall 2021 space. Sony already have Deathloop dropping in May which is a PS5 console exclusive for now, Returnal dropping in April and R&C dropping in June.

It would not make sense for them to flood the market this year with exclusives when they don't have enough PS5's to sell.

I agree, it isn't worth the full price, nor are the latest Mario games. Glad I got for 'free' with PS+. I don't expect too much from the newest Ratchet, but I'll give it a fair chance.

How much you wanna bet?

I guarantee Ratchet, Returnal, and Gran Turismo will only be on PS5.

We know Horizon FW is a PS4 game. God of War seems like its cross-gen but we don't know yet.

While June is a bit stretching the "launch window", it would be the 4th PS5-exclusive PlayStation Studios title. That's ... actually pretty good.

we'll be able to unlock by playing too.

Sony did this with Last of Us 2, I pre-ordered and I got a gun upgrade when I began it that I could have just unlocked by playing, etc.
Pretty much all PS Studios games' pre-orders work like this. All pre-order bonuses are unlockable in-game.

Spider-Man suits, Death Stranding gear, R&C Armor, etc.

I bet it got delayed past their internal goal. Destruction Allstars got pushed back, Deathloop got pushed from launch, Returnal got delayed, Kena slipped, etc etc. So many delays.

I don't even care its now a June release. Gives me time to find a PS5.

We haven't seen a new build in a long while - there is a chance the game even looks better now somehow. Will be a tech showcase for sure.
