I wasn't expecting Horizon until the end of the year anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if Horizon got pushed to 2022.

I can't believe some people actually think we're getting God of War this year, too.

I don't think it will be. Guerilla Games have had four years development time as of this month, they're using the same engine, and they have a bigger team.

Quite true, but you never know how badly Covid has affected different teams. I'd be willing to bet it's the reason RnC wasn't ready a few months sooner and AFAIK we still only have a vague "late 2021" for Horizon. I could see a March release instead realistically.

Yeah that sucks. It looks like fun, but i would definately not pay 80 Euro for a "15? hour ssd demo". By the time i have a PS5 it will be down to 20 and i wouldn't pay more for this anyways,
All Sony first party-games have gone up in price. I don't think it's bad if it's a good game, quality over quantity. Gears Hivebusters is $20 for three hours worth of DLC.

A crack in time was flawless, loved the open world and hoverboots sections. Hope we see more of it in this game. Might actually go replay a crack in time

Nice, I look forward to seeing this. wasn't everyone expecting this sooner though? I thought it would launch before april?

it probably would have...if returnal didnt get delayed. Sony's first party ps5 games are extra important this year since its the first year of ps5 and support wont be all the way their from other publishers yet, they need to space them out so that sales aren't canibalized. They also need to release them strategically around key shopping seasons to get people to buy the new console

This was announced as "launch window". 7 months is not what I expected.
Does my comment bother your?
It's just outside the launch window. They restructured first party releases and covid probably made the window 2 months longer than usual launch windows are. Normally it would probably be April because of fiscal years in different territories.

There are some games/genres i would pay 80 Euro for. Witcher 3, Hitman, Kingdom Come or Yakuza 7 for example, but i won't buy a platformer for 80 Euro. If i remember correctly games like Ori, Rayman Legends or Cuphead were like 30 bucks. Hivebusters is free with Game Pass btw.

Yes. Probably another game affected by Covid.

So you've just been playing PS4 games on it?
Yes, I finished God of War a couple of weeks ago. I was playing HZD but after enduring it for 50+ hours I finally decided the game is just.plain boring and I'm wasting my time. So now I'm playing RE7. But back on topic, what content? To my knowledge there's only MM, Demon Souls and thats it worth mentioning.

Maybe but more the scheduling of first party. They probably could have launched earlier but they mapped it out to release returnal first and they know they have Kena mlb returnal and Deathloop in there as well so they're pacing it out.

I'm torn: preorder the digital or physical version. I really like having discs, at least there's some resale value there to recoup some costs, but the deluxe version is only available digital.

I guess I'd have to resurrect my USA account as well :( Problem is that I would have to buy digital and it sucks.
Tbh for the €23 you save by going American it's worth digital for a day 1 buy. I don't mind paying up to €60 for a Sony game day 1.

Probably be delayed. Never got into these games so I'll most likely skip this too. Unless its on plus or something.

There is no way Rift Apart was ever planned for PS4. Its main feature is creating rifts that instantly changes landscapes.

When I heard launch window I thought perhaps within the first quarter after release. Like Hitman 3. Not over half a year later.

Holy downgrade it looks like a ps4 game with the shaders, especialy can notice it when he jumps out of the portal the first time on the roof

Let's play a game. Which of the following is cut from the August 2020 trailer and which is taken from yesterday's?

It costs almost 50% more and yet it's 15-30% longer, depending on how much of a completionist you are? That doesn't sound like value to me. This definitely should've been a $50 game. And that's coming from a fan who had no problem with the ps3 game pricing...it's just a different time.

As a fellow R&C fan I don't disagree with you, and I think it's worth waiting a few months for a digital/physical sale before picking it up, unless you're absolutely starving for a new PS5 game to play that month.

Yup. Not only does it need the SSD, it was specifically designed to show off the SSD.

You must be a fan of Ubisoft games if you think more hours is more value, Mario Odyssey (like many Nintendo games) is a 10-12 hours game yet you don't see anyone saying it's not worth full price.

No, never finished or paid more than $30 for a ubisoft game. What's the problem with thinking a game that's not far removed from the ps4 game shouldn't be 2x the price? Next gen and early adopter tax??

And in what fucking world is Mario Odyssey a 10 hour game for the AVERAGE gamer? I want some of whatever this guy is smoking...

And in what fucking world is Mario Odyssey a 10 hour game. You're on crack

To play devil's advocate, you could absolutely beat Odyssey in 10-12 hours if you mainlined your way to the credits and stopped there. But you'd be mad to do that with such a good game.

Ratchet games are traditionally all about NG+, the value comes from multiple replays where you carry your progress over and keep upgrading weapons, rather than one save file where you go back and finish collectibles like Odyssey. I'm (hopefully) gonna be going through this thing at least twice in a row. If you're not a big Ratchet fan and only want to beat it once, $70 is probably quite steep, especially if you have to buy digital.

There you go.

Launch Day, Launch Week, Launch Month, Launch Year all fall within the so called Launch Window. To say anything released on or before Nov 12th 2022 isn't in said launch window simply lacks perspective.

Pre-order weapons again,really....fuck off.Hopefully I'll actually have a PS5 by the time this comes out but it's still shitty....Pixelizer is a cool gun too.

Sorry, it's true. No sales numbers statements (never a good sign) but we know it dropped like a rock on all major charts very quickly. Attachment rate in Japan was atrocious, helped by scalpers. Probably same in all regions.
It's a game exclusive to a console that 4 people own. Nothing to do with the price. Try harder

Super excited about this.
Seems like it will be one of the first PS5 conceived games and it will show.
I honestly would have liked to play it a bit earlier in April but yeah May and June will be good with RE8, Deathloop and this.
Would be cool if Insomniac gave us a demo as an appetizer :messenger_sunglasses:
