Atrocious characters, more linear than an electron going 99.99% c on LHC, boringsest skill system, a world to wipe your ass with and a story developement that makes your average show of Oprah seem consistent. X-2 on the other hand at least put away with the linearity, put a better skill system in place and had more depth in Barkeep than in the whole X cast.
I could rant about the other FFs I played for hours, but truth to be told, I put far too much time into each of them, so they all must've been somewhat interesting :/

I don't think Final Fantasy X is bad or anything... i mean it was decent. I mean the story was completely terrible, and it was so linear it was painful, but it had some nice elements.

Amir0x said:you know the worst thing was that they never let you go into what was supposedly the main city in Spira. That was the biggest cocktease shit ever. Fucking long walkway, a boss and NO ENTRY. Except that temple.
nelsonroyale said:that was stupid...The city looked amazing and they only let you explore the temple... Yeah I agree...FFXII kills FFX in terms of exploration. Again though, it is irritating how you cant enter many houses in FFXII

International Edition fixed this, so, if you played that one primary then yes i can see how it was the best thing.
Well in these massive cities in the game, I expected to not be able to enter everything. Although, there was still a pretty nice assortment in a few of the cities. Walking into every house never bothered me, though, it actually frequently kills my immersion... i mean, unless it's an Oblivion esque game. But in a game where the story beats into your head that you're a hero, I always find it absurd that you're breaking into peoples houses, randomly starting conversations and going through their coffers.

Matter of preference. I liked most of them and character development was nicely done so I don't see how you could call them atrocious. A bit bland maybe, but also more realistic than in most FFs.Atrocious characters,
It's definitely more linear than almost every other FF game out there. But I at least liked the straightforward nature of the game. FFX felt like a refreshing detour from many RPGs out there. It somewhat lacked in content compared to many of them, but it didn't feel bloated.more linear than an electron going 99.99% c on LHC,
The sphere grid is better than what most FFs have to offer. It allows you to customize your characters to your liking or if you want you can just play trough the game without worrying about how to develop your characters abilites. Also, if FFXs skill system is boring to you, I'd like to you know how you feel about FF 1-4.boringsest skill system,
Also a matter of preference. Maybe if you said what exactly your problem with FFXs world is?a world to wipe your ass with
Again I have to disagree. In my opinion FFXs story is one of the better RPG stories out there. At the end it pulls a MGS2 and becomes as bit too confusing, but besides that I enjoyed the story very much.and a story developement that makes your average show of Oprah seem consistent.
