Rayman Legends Definitive Edition has new content on Switch

Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, Microsoft Windows

Why does this even exist.... 4 years to create a definitive edition?

To me, a "definitive edition" would be one that can combine the best features of the game that exists on other platforms.

The Wii U and Vita versions have levels that utilize touchscreen and/or tilting controls. The other versions replaced these with levels that play using traditional "gamepad" controls. Some people really like the touch and tilt stuff, other people despise it. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I'm kind of in the middle on this issue--I enjoyed the touchscreen sequences, but I wasn't fond of the levels that depended on tilting the system.

If the Switch version gave the choice of using or not using touch and tilt controls, then you could have a single version of the game that could satisfy both camps.

Another reason why the game should exist is just simply that it's a great game, and there may be people out there who haven't played the game yet and would want to do so on their new system. Or perhaps they have played the game, and want to play through it again with whatever changes and additions that Ubisoft is throwing in.

I joked about a Rayman amiibo, but this game would be perfect for it, especially since we saw proto NFC stuff in the original trailer for the Wii U.

In fact, I dunno if anyone has mentioned it, but with Skylanders using the the NFC built into the JoyCon for Imaginators (so you don't need a portal) that basically any company could make their own NFC items that could be used in a game and it wouldn't have to be an actual "amiibo" figure.

What if the cut prototype stuff comes to Switch, very interesting thought. They did draw and animate Rabbids for this trailer afterall.

I mean, I get it and all, but this isn't something like RE4 like you would "expect" to be on every system. I don't think there is anyone out there that has yet to play this. It's also odd that Nintendo would be cool with this when this is the same game announced as a Wii U exclusive only to be held back for over a year for simultaneous releases on PS3 and 360.
