I think this is new news?

Ready At Dawn said:
Ready At Dawn is seeking Senior Network Programmers to work on the multiplayer component of our new original IP, 3rd person action adventure game for a Next-Generation home console game system.

Ready At Dawn Studios is looking for talented Senior Network Programmers who are passionate about gameplay and multiplayer game development. Network programmers code gameplay content like enemy AI, weapons, character controls, and other functionality with a specific focus on its use in online multiplayer environments. Network programmers also create technical specifications for networked gameplay systems that meet the requirements of the design and art teams as well as fleshing out, expanding, and implementing game designs.

Outside of the genre, camera, and now this, I think this is all we know about the game.

For a next generation console? PS4 exclusive, possibly launch game? We haven't heard anything from them in a long while.

That's what I think. I know Sony was very happy with them after how Ghost of Sparta turned out and they're now in the same building as SSM.

IS RAD under Sony's wing? Or independent?

Anyway, I missed their games. Would be cool to see their first HD game.

Definitely a studio that deserves a shot at the big time. I hope their project is successful as they made the best GoW game.

I thought Jak until I saw it was a new IP. All of their titles have been pretty good, so I'm excited to see what they can come up with.

GoS holds up VERY well on the PS3. Give it a go. It's a better game than III.
:highfive

Ghost of Sparta was awesome. I loved how they characterized Kratos and the combat was great. Really well paced too.
Yup. Aside from a few questionable enemy choices (those annoying Wraith things) the weapon and level design were great.

Well I was gonna say MS would be likely to snatch them up, but I hardly think they'd be working in the same building as SSM if they weren't on a Sony project

Good news, they are very talented guys.

Woah really? Not that I think that's unbelievable but would you happen to have a link to support this?

It was in the making of stuff for Ghost of Sparta. They talked about how they were right down the hall so they could easily communicate with SSM on the game's direction.

PS4 exclusive, I presume.

All signs point to yes on that. I don't think they've ever worked on anything but Sony stuff, and everything on these job postings always says next generation console and not consoles.

edit: Well they did do an Okami wii port but that was the only non sony project.

Sweet!

Agreed! Best entry by far! The story of Kratos and Deimos really is one of the best storylines to come out of the franchise.

I have played them on the PSP already. I am not going to play the same game all over again just because they look cleaner now.

Oh you mean missed as in you wish they would come back not missed as in didn't play.

Anyway, I hope the MP won't be shoehorned in.

Meh. GoS is my least liked game in the entire series. Way too combat focused and the combat mechanics themselves were a step backwards from GoW3. Still a good game but yeah, of their two GoW's, I prefer CoO.

But anyway, I have to wonder if this is the game they were originally pitching around after CoO came out or if it's something different. Either way, I'll probably buy it.

I hope RAD have a backup plan though, what with Sony being the new EA Partners.

I trust RaD to deliver. They've been itching for a chance at their own IP for a while now, but given SCE's recent partnership debacle I imagine there's some anxiety over that. I hope Sony doesn't fail them.

I hope it is M-rated. I can't get into Sony's T-rated action titles (I'm cool with mascot type action platformers). Combat in games like inFamous, Heavenly Sword and Uncharted look terribly tame and weak.

Wasn't impressed with their God of War games. I think I had enough "suddenly, combat room!" encounters to last a lifetime.

Hope this is better

If this is an early next gen Orbis exclusive you can bet that it'll get much better marketing than stuff like All Stars or Sly 4.

Maybe something Zelda-like? Sony doesn't really have a big, adventure/exploration based IP right now.

I like them- I thought Ghost of Sparta was absolutely incredible. The pacing was a little uneven, but they managed to give Kratos some real depth.

Multiplayer? I don't know- the third person action genre needs some new ideas. Anarchy Reigns was definitely on the right path.

What gap could they fill in Sonys lineup? Most genres seem covered - maybe a modern 3D PLATFORMER?

RAD are capable guys and if they're working under a second party relationship with Sony as it seems they might take the place left by Insomniac.
Also they've been working on their next gen stuff for a while so we shouldn't wait a lot to see their work.
With that being said I'd like to see something either like Bioshock/Dishonored or in the western RPG genere like Elders Scroll/Witcher.

Let's remember that besides God of War, they also handled Daxter, and were founded by former Naughty Dog employees. Character platformer could be great.

Sony has a huge gaps in their portfolio. Namely a action/adventure fantasy title. Where is the PlayStation's Zelda? Hell bring back Dark Cloud!

And they have no RPG's to speak of. A next gen folk lore would scratch that itch.

i'm currently finishing up ghost of sparta for the first time. amazing game.

i can't wait to hear more about this! possibly at the conference? if they've been working on it since gos, then it should be 3 years in development by the fall....HYPE.

I hope its a hit for them. They have a lot of practice with other people's IP. I know their games are solid.

Here's hoping for the perfect crossover of a daxter platformer, with GOW combat.

Sony's second party used to be so great, and everyone got excited for second party exclusives. I feel like now, with Super Bot and Insomniac, everyone's getting real down on them. =/

Alundra died. And even though it isn't as popular as their other games or on home consoles, Gravity Rush is a fantasy action-adventure game.
