I just watched a terrible movie. Now I have to review it.

I'm impressed. The first one was very intentionally bad and succeeded quite handily at it. This looks like it follows suit. As a bonus, it uses the terrible "previous movie is actually a movie in this film's world" plot device that I think only really worked at all in New Nightmare (it certainly didn't work in Blair Witch 2!).

I expect much embarrassed hilarity and occasional breasts from this. It will have to go on the "bad movies, only watch in a group" list.

It worked pretty well in HUMAN CENTIPEDE 2.

There's some girl/girl too.

Right, I knew there was another recent movie that people were talking about that did it, but I couldn't quite get it to form in my brain.

Okay, maybe this particular trope i--

Whoa, "Gingerdead Man 2: Passion of the Crust"? They won me over. I'm a sucker for barely-clever titles to obviously shitty movies. :D

You needn't be. Girl Gaf is cool when its just conversations; and before the recent mess up, I just freely walked in there, asked my questions, got answers, help, feedback, and went on my merry way.

It's just that some of the girls, want the girls thread to be about girls, and girls alone; I can understand that, so I'll leave em at peace.

I guess I was expecting something more like Girly GAF for actual girly talk. Instead it was just all weird stuff.

Alright, so there has seemed to be a few beneficial consequences of Real Pic January:
1. Seeing posters as actual people
2. Better manners
3. Hook-ups?

But has seeing certain avatars actually made you more annoyed at another poster or see them in a different, negative light? What I mean to say is, are the sneaky biases that shade our opinions of people we see daily now creeping into your GAF posting?

If Creeper Gaf ever takes an interest in me, they may find themselves getting more than they bargained for.

This outside my window at night?

*strums guitar*

i said maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me
and after all, you're my wonder wall

*lets it linger*

People hooking up on gaf? gaf > e-harmony

I want all action games that challenge you to "master" them to come out on PC. I am attempting to play Ninja Gaiden 2 and I cannot believe how much waiting I have to do after every time I die.

got a shaved today.

1. Always a pleasure to see a real face. I feel like it adds more personality/nuance to posts.
2. Things have been overwhelmingly civil. +1000
3. Has this happened? Isn't that what the "Post Pics of Yourself" thread is for? ;)

Oooooh? Resolution? Seeking vengeance?

Le Bernardin costs less than the Keller places. Three course prix fixe lunch $70, four course prix fixe dinner $120, tasting menus for $145 and $190. Not too different from Providence, IIRC.

Do tell about your Sona stories!

Eff the Vita. PC all the way.

:(

Sona tales are best told over food and drink, but it was an insane place with some crazy people (in a good way). I was the hostess there during my jobless period in-between period in L.A. Good times, great wine and some amazing meals.

As for eating, La Bernardin seems much more doable. While I'm willing to some extent to sink $300+ into a good meal, I'd prefer to have an equally amazing experience with a better price tag. And my experience with tasting menus leads me to believe that a 5 courser is the best option for me. After the 5th round the rich food starts to build up and I get food drunk, which begins to hurt very quickly. I don't like overeating. Wine pairings are a must, though. Ahhh, I really want to eat somewhere nice now. I got to eat at Melisse a few months ago and and it was a decadent and much needed treat.

I'm about to go to bed, Realpic Thread, but I am going to tell you about a story I was just reading.

In order to pay fewer import fees for Marvel toys, Marvel had to argue that they were not depictions of humans, as human dolls incur more fees. So they spent years arguing that, no, Wolverine is not a human despite looking like one. Jean Grey is not a human. Colossus is not human. You get the idea.

So, in the comics, the entire story behind the X-Men is how they struggle to be seen as human, just the next step in evolution, while the actual company that birthed the idea actively argues they are not humans and thus can not be considered such so they can pay less on the fees.

Crazy.

Had to join in Nex Superne and H. Protag's foodie conversation is reason to try this thread out.

That and the general reasonable nature of posters in this thread. I am a lurking member of NYC Gaf mostly take part in NYC threads and food Gaf. I am going to Gotham Bar and Grill on Saturday and hopefully Junoon on Sunday night, a two star weekend in the works...New Years diet resolutions be damned.

I'm lazy so I can see myself just leaving my avatar as is after the month's over.

I have a feeling that this may be the case for many. Haha.

Woohoo! A shared love of food will unite us all!

Anyway, welcome, and the Gotham Bar and Grill is a very fine way to break your resolution. Be sure to regale us with tales of your weekend feast once you go. During, even. :D

Ha, I dated a woman that worked at Gotham.

Nice...I have lived here for 7 years been coming to NYC for 14 and have never eaten there so really looking forward to it.

Thanks I was looking at the meals posted over the last two days and wished I had taken a pic of what I made tonight to share, I did the cherry tomato tofu salad from the Momofuku cookbook and a 'Nando's' Peri Peri grilled chicken burger which came out pretty amazing. Will definitely try live post the Gotham experience.

Hello RP-GAF, back from my self-imposed GAF-block. How has your day been?

My day was semi-productive, but I got distracted by studying about classical music when I did not MEAN to!

Also, pleased about my senators/representative being so against SOPA/PIPA.

Also, played Kingdoms of Amalur demo and liked it.

Studying about classical music? Which period?

Studying about classical music? Which period?

Right now just a general survey. I've always loved listening to classical music but I know very little about it. I want to fix that. It's convenient to be able to go to Youtube and listen to everything they're talking about. Once I find out which periods and composers I like best I plan on doing more concentrated study.

I hope so, I don't want to be the only one. :P Wouldn't be a bad thing in some cases.

Don't worry. You won't be alone. I'm hoping for a revival of the thread in Feb. Even if not, I'm seeing a tons of RP avatar from people who don't even post in the thread, so I think I it's something people want to do, theme month or not.

I'm planning to change my avatar back to my black and white one.

Oh, and the girl finally got a hold of me.

Oh? What's the word?

DO post your cooking adventures (I enjoy them immensely). That tomato salad sounds like exactly what I want to eat right now, too... I really need to start swapping out meat with tofu. So much better for you. Curious about the chicken burger as well.

Haha. And I thought you had given yourself the pregnant. ;)

fuck that, my avatar is going back to not-me after this month.

Aw, c'mon. You know you love your demented face accompanying every post.
