No one knows what a hipster is and never has. It's mostly just a term to malign certain fashion choices. I had my own clear definition because ::art school:: but people want to throw hipster at just about anything.
 
There was a very good picture on hipster perceptions basically saying how one person classifies another as a hipster and the "hipster" classifies someone else as one. Too bad I'm too lazy to find it.

For me, the definition of hipster lives and dies on disliking something because it became popular.

If, say, a band's music style did become worse after selling out, then yes, I can see that. But I'm talking about "I saw them in the clubs and they're making the exact same music now but it just doesn't have the same feel now that they're not getting paid in beers."

There's gaming hipsters, too.

People just suck at labels, those used to be called elitist douchebags.
 
I'm too old to be a hipster. The whole "I've done X before it was Y" is irrelevant to me because I've lived longer than most on this board therefore I've seen the trends come back.
 
I dressed up as the Mononoke Kusuriuri guy a few years back loool. Kinda really threw it last minute though... Wish I could get the actual costume ;p

I finally decided that I don't care about the term hipster anymore when the babysitter called me a hipster. It needs to hurry up and die, but whateves.

Ha, I had the other one and this both labeled as "avatar" and uploaded the wrong one.

That's an old pic. I don't consider myself to be photogenic at all, so it's one of two I have. I'll try to take a new one before the month's out.

Also I hate fandoms.

All of them.

Note: This was bought on by me seeing yet another random picture where something with nothing to do with Harry Potter was related to HP. And then I thought about the Harry Potter fandom and how annoying that sort of thing is. Then I realised it's true for basically all fandoms.
