So most are already aware of the genuinely good ones. Road Warrior, A Boy and his Dog, Threads, etc. How about we bring up the not-quite-good and so-bad-it's-good ones well? In particular, after the success of Road Warrior in the early 80's, there was a big wave of cheaply made post-apoc movies in its wake.

Yesterday I saw one called Def-Con 4 which is about a couple of astronauts who wait out the nuclear war for a couple of months, then crash in an area where a young military brat rules as a tyrant. The whole movie is on YouTube but I dunno if that means it's public domain.

I also remember catching parts of one 80's post-apoc movie many years ago which had the infertility theme like Children of Men, but with crazed female amazon gangs. Anyone got a name?

Dunno about "really trashy", but I didn't come away too impressed by 1988's World Gone Wild. It's such a vague memory that I probably can't comment too much heh.

Must say that some of the painted posters for a lot of the movies in this thread are absolutely stunning. Stuff like that really captured my imagination as a kid browsing the videostore shelf.

Either way it's amazing. A nearly shot for shot remake of Aliens, with a T-800 antagonist, set in post-apocalyptic Venice. I can't believe I got to see it in a theater a few weeks ago. God bless Alamo.
