I have an honorary man card from ausgaf. Does that count

Ok now I feel better. I only had a few neck beards in my year similar but there was no way I was gonna hang out with them. Well mostly lol.

one day when I was...17? I had a talk with my mother..about that I feel lonely because everyone in the village
population 5k
likes soccer, drinking every weekend until they vomit and rather watch german soap operas then star wars or anime
no judging. they like it..and that is perfectly fine

but I was judged all the time for being the weird one, reading tolkien, wanting to study japanese, loving star wars >>

so yeah. growing up/teenager life was not nice ^_^/ and I usually don't go to reunion meetings of my former classmates.

oh and strange thing: even now that I am at the university it is hard to find people that are involved as a lot of gaffers are in the things I like.

Real quick, (for those that saw yesterday night) I showed my concept artist the page with everyone's reactions to that art I posted up and he's really really heartwarmed right now :)

You've got to roll the save first.

Clydefrog rolls a 7.

Clydefrog dies.

ugggg i know im going to be ostracized for this here, but since you all talking about being lonely nerders you all seem to love lord of the rings.

I.... never really got into lord of the rings or the hobbit. All my friends in school loved it. And I watched the first movie, and liked it a lot. But something about the second and third movie just put me off, i've avoided them ever since to this day.

#heathen.

I like the Hobbit novel much much more than the movies, but I like the Trilogy movies better than the books.

I appreciate the detail and the love that goes into the first three but they're VERY hard to get into.

Doctor's Prescription :
Read the Silmarillion. Secretly the best tolkien novel.

It is both too early and too late to figure out the mathematical details. Suffice it to say we could have been nerdbros.
Good enough for me

I'm still the same. Hence why I talk to you guys a lot

I didn't care much for the hobbit movies but loved the book as a teen.
Could watch lotr over and over though.
We can still be friends. For now.

I mean not liking the movie...okay. I understand that. but the books?

jk. you don't like it and that is fine >>

can sign that.

I'm not a huge fan of either the book nor the movies with regard to The Hobbit, but I love the LOTR books and the LOTR movie trilogy is one of my favorite things in the heat-life of the universe.

The Silmarillion is cool.

I burned out on LotR films as a kid, watched waaaay too many times in school holidays.

Had the special extended boxsets of the whole series.

I thought they were okay when I was young, but now I feel a bit like... "fuck lotr"ish? if that's okay?

My mom used to read us "The Hobbit" when I was very young, and it was fine, but then the movies came out and were more shit than I ever could have dreamed.

My ex-wife was so into LOTR when we were teenagers that she probably watched all three of them every single week. For years now she's been utterly incapable of rewatching them. Still, I sent her a link to that Black Friday sale on the Blu-Ray set and she scooped it up in seconds.

Hardcore fandom can be a tricky beast, I guess.

All this talk... damn. I'm gonna watch these movies this weekend.

Yay sales. Just got some sweet nursing shoes for 30% off. Hopefully my feet wont be so sore by the end of the day ):

bought 3 blu rays for 7€ each thanks to the amazon sale... Mad Max, Blade Runner Final Cut and Guardians of the Galaxy.

So tomorrow I'll have a movie watch day before I have to throw myself back into studying

What's it with most dudes and only owning a pair or two of shoes. "Yeah, got my shoes here, and htese are my nice shoes I never wear, and.. that's it"

I have like 10 pairs of shoes.

Ive also been meaning to buy new shoes, my right shoe has a massive hole in the back and a hole in the front too, my socks are soaked when it rains.

However, im lazy as fuck, even though I know I want a pair of converse.

Haha. D:

I get holes in my shoes every few months. I walk 7-12 miles daily six days a week so it is kind of unavoidable.

I can't do Converse, weirdly. My feet are a bit too curved or something. They hurt like hell.

Good picks. Good picks.

Was soured on Converse ever since I had a pair as a little kid and they dug into my heel. Just not comfortable to me.

These are what I have currently.

I should think about going. Seattle is pretty close. I should check out a vancouver meet up sometime as well.
Definitely should. I'd buy you a beer.
I was at the PSX meet.
That's right! We even briefly spoke.
I don't even know where to begin searching. There's so many tattoo artists here in Austin, hah.
Hm in that case if you know anyone whose tattoos you like a lot you can ask about their artist. It shouldn't be too difficult to find a quality artist.
I have over
30
pairs of shoes.

*Spoilered for those with sensitive complexions
Are you hiding a bundle of tentacles on the lower half of that picture or something? Holy moly.

I'm a converse fan. Last year they released an update to the formula, entitled "chuck 2".

http://www.converse.com/us/en/regular/chuck-taylor-all-star-ii/150146C_030.html

It has a similar appearance but has updated ergonomics. Might be worth a try if you like the style.

Oh, I have these in blue and gray each! They're super comfy.

I think I have about twenty pairs of shoes. It's definitely too many, especially since several of them are pretty similar to each other, but I'm hesitant to get rid of any.

edit: just counted. 26. Yikes.

A basic pair of shoes that fit me that won't fall apart in 2 months are expensive
so i just buy those for right now

Plus, I like my shoes worn in.

shoes before.

Sounds about right.

I have two pair of chuck 2, the blue and red. I am preoccupied with matching the color of my shoes to the color of something else on me.

My girl!
Lawd

I need to up my shoe game
Your shoes were fugly

I also have a pair of these that are coming up on 5 or 6 years old. The suede is still nice but the soles are worn to hell. They traveled all over the world with me, so I don't want to get rid of them. Been through a ton of rainstorms and hikes too, pretty amazing how well they've held together.
