Eh. We've all been there.

(Right? RIGHT!? *panics*)

Sol, your chili looks like a scene from The Evil Within. I'm glad it tastes better. ;)

It hasn't really headlined since back when PS4 launched, and then it was bundled it with a lot of other prospective games. You'd mostly have to be paying attention to Blow's twitter to know about it.

What's the most unhealthy dessert I could be eating right now?

A slice of red velvet cake and some Buttercrunch (basically Butterfinger sonic blast) ice cream. And it's so damn good.

And now I finally know what The Witness is and who Blow is. It's "that game by the Braid guy." Eh.

I didn't enjoy Braid very much (the writing was dreadful) but I've been following The Witness closely to see if he can make an interesting follow up.

Never been a fan of Karl, something about him pisses me off.

When it comes to Aussie standup, I'm more of a Jim Jefferies guy.

Just finished watching the entire thing. That was really good thanks for the link

I loved Braid. It was one of the first small, digital games I played last gen.
I enjoyed it as well but I bought both that and Castle Crashers and CC remains to be one of the best gaming experiences I had. I miss it to be honest

Yeah, add me to Braid is mediocre bandwagon (except that's probably revisionist history, because I appreciated it more when it first came out). I still like Blow a lot though. He has a lot of interesting ideas and insight, even if it doesn't always pan out. For example, he hired a professional architect and historian to help with The Witness, because he wanted the buildings and environment in The Witness to feel authentic and like it has a rich history.

And a historian? This sounds like a mixture of being out of touch and pure Hubris

Yeah, well, maybe I was gonna love your game too, but now you've gone and ruined it!

I don't think the law is clearly defined as it relates to bigamy and video games

I found Braid to be more conceptually interesting than it was fun to play, so a new game by the same guy with more experience under his belt is worth keeping an eye on, I guess.

I remember quiting Braid half way through, high school me just didn't care to finish but i liked the rewind feature and the puzzles were ok

ending was kinda random after watching on youtube

*goes back to playing resident evil zero* shook 101

Braid was boring and Blow himself is insufferable so I could care less about anything he works on

Sick burn... I wouldn't go that far because I don't know shit about him, but I didn't like Braid one bit. I actively disliked it before I even realized Jonathan Blow was a person.

I just think that the most interesting stuff is sometimes made by the most insufferable people.

I'll definitely keep my eye on the The Witness.

speaking of making games....

someone make a supermarket game x simulator and I shall provide you with everything to make the game 100% realistic, also Rift support so you can take out eggs from a broken egg carton and place them in a new egg carton in VR
also rotate milk

lets do it real gaf ;p

I thought Braid had some interesting ideas but it wasn't really all that much fun to play, especially once you got further in. And the way it delivered its story was obnoxiously pretentious.

I highly enjoyed The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai back in X360 era. Haven't touched any of the new big indie games now. I did play Undertale for a bit, def will get back to it one day.

True. Kanye West and Jim Morrison are good examples. One is an insanely pompous narcissist and the other is a spoiled little rich boy but both are musical geniuses.

Jonathan Blow isn't even Frank West or Jim Belushi.

I think we'll see going forward where he lands, he's shown that he has a sense of humor about it all so he may land somewhere along the Ian Bogost side of things depending on how The Witness is received.

Following him on Twitter is fascinating.

I do plan on picking up Dragon's Dogma though... much later... cause I've gone from Fallout 4 to Dark Cloud 2 and Trails of Cold Steel... I don't need another big ass RPG like that.

DC2 and ToCS at the same time? Damn. I feel you, dude. I'm playing Bloodborne and ToCS at the same time. It's brutal because they're both so goddamn long.
