Well, oxenfree is a game about a girl with blue hair who goes on a long night walk and fiddles with technology all night long, so how could I pass it up? :P

I got it when I noticed it was on XB1. I rarely game on PC. Plan to check it out when the moood is right. (I need the right setting to go into non action, story focused game)

You said it seemed like it could be your GOTY, and I'll pay attention when people I know say shit like that.

Both Oxenfree and The Witness are high on my wishlist. Too little time :(

Yeah, I think at this rate, it's gonna take me another month to finish off Bloodborne, given how unmotivated I've been to game. Way, way too many games.

(I almost yearn for my kid years, when the only games I had to play were the ones bought for me, and there never was many.)

this is surprising

this is surprising

I spend all my time on the PC fiddling with my own game. I don't use it to relax. :)

For my leisure I strongly prefer console. PS4 is what I go to most, but I also have a wii u and XB1.

Speaking of, I finally finished the Kickstarter thread, which morphed into the Beta thread. And then I cursed myself for not being around for that. ;)

you're reading through my game's history on neogaf? sounds like a lot of work. I'm flattered.

ah, I'm familiar with this phenomenon

I could use the PC through my TV, which is made easier than ever with the existence of Steam Link. I just prefer the console ecosystem, and I like my PC to be "open" rather than occupied with playing a game, as strange as that may sound.

similar thing happened in my younger days when I worked at wet n' wild and sea world.

all of the allure of the rides quickly became stale

I am totally digging that latest Yeasayer song. It's fantastic.

link it you jerk

Opposite for me. Because I'm at my computer so often, my housemates have almost always hijacked my PS4 for Netflix or whatever and I don't want to be the bad guy who kicks them off.

I did, and I stand by that. However, I've since talked to some people who were oversold on the game and it didn't click for them. I think you have to approach it naturally and let it surprise you a little bit.

I also had forgotten The Witness was coming out so soon when I said that, though I've generally had high expectations for it so it's not as much of a surprise.

Well I still really don't know jack shit about it, except that I generally like the art style (if I hated the look of it, no recommendation would have mattered). I have a vague suspicion it's a ghost story, but, again, I really have no clue.

When I play it I'll pass along my thoughts.

The only time I've ever held a gun was at a shooting range. I'd rather take my chances with knives and mace for self defense. The gun is just too powerful.

I'm looking forward to it! Even if you shit all over the game, I'm sure it will be a beautiful shitstorm.

You seem to have me pegged as a hypercritical/negative person just because I disliked Mad Max and The Martian within a short timespan. I'm not!

How big of a download is The Witness?

(I'm considering buying it at full price. This is a huge step for me.)

according to steam it takes 4 gigs storage. and holy shit it's $40

Worth it. Rave reviews. Beatiful graphics and a lot of playtime with clever puzzles.

I don't doubt it, and I think it's possible indie games often devalue themselves unnecessarily.

Seeing $40 just took my by surprise. It's not what indie games from small devs usually cost.

I'm looking forward to watching someone play Witness on youtube :/

If your wife likes solving puzzles, this game is great for co-op play!

No, I've seen you praise things plenty of times. I just don't want you to hold back from giving your impression if you think it's one I'm not expecting.

And yeah, I'm glad Blow had the unction to price it at $40. It's a very involved game that took seven years and eight million dollars to create, so him not undervaluing the game is important.

I don't own a gun, but I do own about five real swords.

But then that would mean you're a kid and being a kid sucked. Also, being a kid, you'd probably not be into these kind of games (Oxenfree, The Witness, Bloodborne) but more into shootbangs.
uhhh remember when I was wanting diablo x dark souls

EITR IS THAT MOTHERFUCKING GAME

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-YatMGBqq0

so hot

Yeah I played Eitr at EGX, it's pretty rad.
Eitr really is 2D Dark Souls, really pretty and great feedback although the isometric viewpoint makes it harder to line up attacks on the right plane. The electric modifier when dual wielding axe+sword really reminded me of Bloodborne.

I could afford the Witness, but I'd have to give a few things up. One I wouldn't be able to go see Spotlight this weekend (which looks like an amazing film) and I probably wouldn't be able to afford any nice food for a week or two. Is it really that good? or can it wait a while? note that I'm kinda dying to play something new and fresh, as all my regular games are starting to feel stale to me.

I mostly played RPGs as a kid. I remember countless hours playing FFVI and CT.

Duuudes second xfiles ep was so much better. Relieved.

Eh that's not me. If it sycjs you'll get the shitstorm you desire

I have this on my shelf!

But everyone's played those. Ever play Secret of Evermore?

When I was a kid I mainly played games like Money Island, old Prince of Persia and like platformers.

Didn't really play shooting games until I discovered Halo. But I still generally played other genres. Got really into RTS games because of Impossible Creatures. Loved animals haha

My childhood was PS1, a MAME installation with thousands of ROMs, and a few other PC games like Star Control and Rollercoaster Tycoon. I had friends with N64 but didn't get to play that very much.

Rollercoaster Tycoon was my favorite.

I had a N64, and later a PS1 when the PS2 came out. Other than some PC games, I grew up exclusively with Nintendo because my parents didn't understand that different consoles had different games.

Man the witness is a fascinating game. I feel so dumb and so smart, but mostly dumb :D can't stop playing, but I really should go sleep.

I also would win the old-off.
