They were the two apps needed to view videos in web browsers before Flash became popular. Hated QuickTime on Windows.

Remember when Macromedia Shockwave was a thing?

A+ gif use
Not quite.

He says, "Everyone!" not everything.

Woah, there's a lol101? I thought it was just lol1 to lol10.

Winamp or Foobar are the only media players I'll ever consider

Don't need no boring ass minimalist, flat designed UI

With - Does anybody know what are the advantages of Foobar over Winamp? I know it's good, but I don't see a reason to switch over
Foobar can play a lot of formats and can handle huge libraries of albums very well.

Other than that, it's not the nicest thing to look at unless you decide to use an older version. Those old versions were "hacked" so that a plugin could be used to develop nice looking GUIs, but the dev was against it.

How do you guys not use RealPlayer. They actually have really great tools for streaming, and it's actually pretty decent now.

RealPlayer lol

I have a stepdad who uses yahoo messenger and every toobar in existence with ie10 at the time.

Somehow I got blamed for his viruses because I downloaded 7zip (which was supposed to be for his benefit so he wouldn't have to pirate winzip).
Your stepdad and my father in law would be great friends, lol. His computer is so slow, no matter how often I clean it up, he downloads new shit as soon as I leave. Toolbars, pop ups, error messages left and right. Then whenever he sees me, all he wants me to do is fix his computer again.

I hate it with a passion, because the system is so slow, trying to fix it takes EONS. I'd rather pull my fingernails with rusty pliers at this point.

RealPlayer is still a thing? Holy shit.

Yeah, had a prof give out music samples for a classical music survey course in 2012 that still required us to use RMP. I think it has something to do with the DRM and how it's pretty entrenched in some of the bigger academic resources? Still annoying as shit.

Volume Logic died, so I still use Winamp for music, the post solution Breakaway works on the whole computer, and I prefer just using it for music.

I'm not sure if MusicBee does what realplayer does, but it damn near seems to do everything I need it to do, so maybe check that out.

Also winamp, because

I've been using Winamp since probably 1998, never saw a compelling reason to change it up. I look forward to hearing "it really whips the llama's ass!" every time I install it on a fresh Windows (with OG skin of course). It's like coming home.

I'm in a religion class this semester online and the professor asks us to download realplayer to view the weekly lectures. The problem is I hate realplayer and I have downloaded and installed it the past couple days and I have not been able to get it to work with the lecture. It has been saying some shit like "Connection to server cannot be established" it is pissing me off.

I want to know if there is any way to get this shit working, or if I can download some other video player that can work for this damn lecture that I can watch it with.

Sorry OP, I read the bolded part and started laughing.

We need to go further
