when is this gonna happen (if at all). its been like a year!?
Just gotta play the waiting and hoping game. The home video rights issues were cleared up in 2008 and we're only now getting it next year. All of you better buy the DVD set so they know we want more Reboot.

Shout Factory just announced Reboot: The Complete Series on DVD. There's no date yet other than 2011 for the set.

Excellent, Shout Factory is a great company for this stuff. Their Super Mario Bros Super Show releases were pretty good and very modestly priced. I also have Super Mario Bros 3, which got released through them by DIC. The do the "Inside the Actors Studio" one-offs, which are pretty good. Of course, "Freaks and Geeks" is probably their most beloved release. Either way, ReBoot is definitely in good hands.

I wish certain other companies (Disney) would be willing to farm their stuff out to some of these budget publishers (Mill Creek is another one). It's so stupid that they have all this great IP that they can't make commercially viable but that these smaller publishers easily can, and they don't take advantage of that :/

QUESTION: I'm a little confused since I'm not sure if I've seen the tv movies. Did the 3rd season end with
grown up Enzo and everybody watching a play that was basically a retelling of the entire show up to that point?
because that's definitely the last episode I saw and I assumed it ended there.

Holy shit yes!

That's season 3.

Wish it were on Blu as well.

The show was actually rendered (Self pimpage, click the Gavin Blair interview I link to, a friend did it) in SD, so a BD release wouldn't do wonders if anything other than make the show look older than it already is (Unless they find those computers!). Not a surprise though, the series is the first CG tv series, and back in 1994 complete home video releases on VHS were rare, let alone the idea of a high definition home release.

I wouldn't put it past a production company to keep all the original assets. The question is, was it all post-produced on computers and effectively rendered to tape, or was it rendered on computers and mixed/composited with analog equipment. If it's the former, then there's a chance of bluray. With the latter, it could still be done, but would take a metric fuckton of work.

It's interesting, I missed the original rumor, but a few weeks ago, I was going through some old VHS tapes of old Toonami recordings and had some Reboot episodes (I used my Hauppauge to record some promos) mostly from the 3rd season as well as a few Season 1 episodes. The animation wasn't nearly as awful and outdated looking as I expected it to be. The series still packs a lot of charm making it very enjoyable (thanks to my Mom being such a Prisoner/Patrick McGoohan fangirl, we actually understood and really enjoyed that one Matrix episode, probably the only kids who would've recognized the reference at the time, if not ever).

I checked Wikipedia and found the tvshowsonDVD.com rumor from earlier this summer, and was hoping it would become true. Very happy it is.

I think I was in grade 2 or 3 when this show was popular (it was on YTV in Ontario). I remember watching it, but not understanding all of the computer references. :lol

Would definately buy this if it was released.

This and Beast Wars were basically my childhood. Already have one on DVD, will definitely add ReBoot to my collection as well.

Awesome! That means I have more Reboot to watch.
Season 4 gets a little.... weird. Think of as more of a parody of the show, rather than a true continuation. All the characters act extremely out of character. With that said, one of my favorite lines ever spoken is said in that season.

"I simply adore children.... but I could never eat a whole one."'

Awesome. I haven't seen this show in ages... used to record them off TV :lol I can't remember but was there ever anything that happened after Megabyte came back during season 4 or whatever?

Shout Factory wants fan input about what to include in the special features.

In release news today, Shout! Factory has revealed that it's working on a complete series DVD set for ReBoot - the first ever fully CG animated series. And our old friend, DVD producer Brian Ward (who is working on the set), would like input from you fans as to what extras you might like to see on the set. So head on over to this thread at the Shout! Factory Community forums and chime in with your ideas.

Nothing animated sadly as the show didn't get enough funding to get another season off the ground. Those were a bad couple of years for Mainframe, as that's when they started to become the Barbie movie company (Hasbro pulled out of Transtech, Shadow Raiders/War Planets died, etc.), and started the slide of the company being bought by various companies and sold off.

I grabbed this awhile back on the interwebs and watched the whole thing while crapping. The musical at the end of season 3 is fucking amazing (you can see it on YouTube, don't watch if you don't know the show). God I loved this show so much. They pioneered so fucking much with CGI and no one gives 'em credit for it.

So disappointing :/

Dear ReBoot Fan,

Just as we were about to ship your ReBoot: The Definitive Mainframe Edition DVD set we discovered a slight error in Disc 1. The good news is that we have moved megabytes to produce a replacement disc that corrects the error and we will be shipping the replacement disc in the same package with your DVD set. Unfortunately, this has delayed our shipping by a few days. We are doing everything possible to minimize the delay and hope to have all product shipped by the middle of this week. Please accept our apologies.

Thanks for your purchase.
