Recent cars you think look good

Everything Audi. Go sit in the front seat of a brand new A4, A6, or A8.

I absolutely love my A3, but I'm still salty I didn't get the recent facelift with a virtual cockpit (I have the model from 2014, which has neither Google car nor the Vc). I need this shit badly.

Ok, I think my car's catalytic converter is toast. I'm going to trade it in (probably will get scrap prices for it), so now I need this thread more than ever.

Looking for <$30k preferably... definitely no more than $35K vehicle with AWD, probably a SUV.

I'd prefer new, but may buy 1-2 years old, and I want something that looks good.

The following are SUVs in your price range that can be purchased in AWD.

These start lower on the price scale and so can be found nicely equipped in your price range. They are largely considered compact crossover suvs.

Toyota rav4
Hyundai Tuscon
Mazda CX5
Honda CR-V
Nissan Rogue
Ford Escape

I'd personally recommend the Honda or Mazda from those. Both seem to be considered a cut above the others.

The following start in your price range but quickly move out of it with options so you'd likely be looking at a base level model or one a few years old. They are largely mid size suvs.

Jeep grand Cherokee
Dodge Durango
Ford Edge
Nissan Murano
Mazda CX9
Honda Pilot
Volkswagen Atlas

Of those I'd recommend the Jeep or Dodge (I love the way thd Durango looks). Or the Mazda or Honda (again, their models are the most critically acclaimed).

You might even be able to manage a couple years old bmw x1 or Audi q3 at the top of your budget. But it would be close.

You literally bought at the ass end of the old style interiors. At least the A3 is still somewhere in the middle and stands up today

Why don't I see a Subaru Forester or Outback in that list?

My family owns an outback and I quite like it, but I never really considered it an suv. It's a weird mutant that lives in its own little category. I guess some places consider it a station wagon.
But yes, both would be more than suitable choices.

Although I just noticed I was responded to a 3 month old post like the dumbass I am.

The new GT40 is absolutely stunning it is like the matchbox car of my dreams.

Unfortunately reviews say that it is ludicrously overpriced and ludicrously unsuitable and unrefined for the road, unlike its competitors like Ferrari, McLaren etc.

I can absolutely recommend the Mazda CX5, great car.

I know, I worked on the latest Q7 a couple years back, I know Audis very well ;-)
But well, I had the occasion for an almost new fully equipped A3 with DSG + 150HP for a very attractive price, so I jumped on it. I'm really only missing Google car, and the virtual cockpit would be nice, but it's still a great car.

The German marques in the Volkwagen Group (VW, Audi, Porsche) kill it pretty consistently, both interiors and exteriors. Both the 911 and Golf are nice examples of a classic design refined over time.

(I don't love Audi's recent "tall grills" direction, though.)

The new Civic and Audi's lineup look great. I don't know why BMWs got so ugly. And most American cars are still hideous with very few exceptions.

LOVE the new Accords...

Downgraded from a Lexus IS because it was honestly just overkill for the kind of traffic I have to deal with on the daily... and I have to say, I absolutely love it. It's very much a dad car and I don't even give a fuck. Stellar gas mileage, and I'm very impressed with the VTEC - it can't come close to the 8 banger in the Lexus, but it does a really nifty job on the top end - way more than I need, honestly.

The new Civic Hatchback looks great. And it's like 19k starting.

I seriously wish I was able to wait for these to come out. I love my sedan, and while I wish the faux-vents on the front and back were a little less overstated on the hatchback, I still think it is overall the better looking (and better functioning) car.

Honda has been ON POINT.

My wife got the 2016 HR-V and it is also great looking (for a compact SUV).

Very impressed with their offerings of late, across the board. Honestly, I think they look even nicer than their Acura equivalents.

2010s car design:

Honestly, there's so few cars I find appealing the days.[/QUOTE]
Post an example of what you think is appealing - I'd love to know.

I think the 2010's have been the best years for design in a long time - especially for the Average Joe commuter car.

Looking back on the 00's and the 90's, and a lot of that stuff has NOT aged well (with some standout exceptions from luxury makes).

Dude don't worry about it. I have virtual cockpit in my A4 and to be honest it isn't much better than living in an amazing spaceship from the future with everything you ever dreamed of at your fingertips.

Well, a recent car I like is the new Fiat 500, but that's much too small for my needs.

The new Audi A5/S5 is gorgeous when nicely specced. The interior is even better. I can't think of an equivalent car I'd rather own.

Yea my bro got the A4 and shit isn't even that dope aside from the fact that there are screens on screens on screens and LED's and shit surrounding you like you're in tron.

We went with the 2016.5 CX-5 GT. The 2017s were coming a week later but the 16s were flying off the lot. There were only two black GT trims left in the province, we got one at $2000 under invoice with free rust proofing. I prefer the 2016 with the wave in the side panels and the front grill over the 2017 mesh grill.

Honda Accords are simply prefect cars. I absolutely adore them.

The Chevy Camaro ZL1 is one bad (good) looking car. Everything about looks amazing.

The Corvette always looks great. Still at the top of list and most likely my next car.

God, I can't even begin to afford on of those. Sadly my next car will probably be an SUV or Crossover since I have a baby on the way.
Why not? If you're American all you have to do is wait 8-10 years. By then you can have one for around $40K.

Yes... With the mileage I put on my cars (usually 400-500 a week), it just made sense to go with one. It will last forever and I'll never have a problem locating parts.

I am honestly concerned about the amount of electronics in it, as I'm guessing that if anything is going to go it will be those first, but I guess I'll cross that bridge when the time comes.

New civic is too busy but looks like a $35k car. Like it.

New Panamera is lovely.

Would never buy one but the new Lincoln continental is handsome.

Audi Allroad and A7 are gorgeous.

The Volvo s60 is beautiful in and out. Classiest cabin available.

Ford GT is beautiful so it's a shame it's so flawed.

Subaru needs to stop aping Mazda 3 shapes and get back to 00 Legacy wagon shapes and clean lines.

This thread is making me realize I have no idea what car I want to get in a few months. But it does help me realize there's a lot of clean looking cars for sub 30k

This is an amazing time to buy cars. Even crappy cars are better than the exotic and luxury vehicles of my youth.

My own boring sedan would have been a supercar when I was a kid.

Yeah, you've never had a better selection IMO.

What kind of use case? Commuter? Student? Any kids?

Of non super-expensive cars, Mazda 3 and BMW3 look very good while also not relying on classical lines. Mazda 3 especially is a huge improvement over the previous design, which kinda sucked.

Also, new Corvette could pass as a supercar, almost, in terms of looks. They really did a good job there.

agreed, the past two model years of corvettes look fantastic.

Honestly a lot of these cars are freaking gorgeous. The new civic makes my 98 civic look like a shoe. A silver shoe with wheels.

It's going to be my daily driver. No kids, just me. And my work drive is only about 25 minutes. I'm in Colorado right now, but weather doesn't get too intense in my area.

I've been looking at Subaru specifically the crosstrek. But then it's like do I need a car like that if I'm just driving for me and wherever I want to go? The WRX was catching my eye, but it would be just the base model.

I like the new civic posted in here. And by the time I'm ready to make a purchase the 2017 SI should be available. There's just so many nice cars, and when it comes down to it- I'm pretty indecisive lol.
