Recommend me some awesome Twitch.tv channels

MonotoneTim for sure. He plays mostly Oregon Trail and Roller coaster Tycoon, with many other games in between, such as Virtual Corporation, Hard Times, and many other obscure games. Last night he was playing a game called My Boyfriend 2, and boy was it hilarious.

He also has a second stream, Not_Tim that he mostly uses for work, playing Puyo Puyo, Ouendan, and for demoing stuff for the main channel.

yea i fell in love with this guy back when he was doing the extralives charity marathons. the feats of charity work he pulled off were just mindblowing. 70-80 hour charity streams, he'd stay away 24+ hours at a time, take a 3 hour nap, wake up and continue. you could hear the marathon taking a toll on him, yet he'd still keep talking, keep telling jokes. it's not like most marathons where they're just organized people taking turns, he was actually suffering for it. it's good to see him getting some attention for all of that. i like his non-offensive style a lot, too many people on twitch try to be shocking or vulgar.

MANvsGAME for sure.

Yeah, for non-specific games, ManvsGame and Dan's Gaming are ones I watch otherwise there's specific streamers who do certain categories (I mostly watch League and D3 though, with an occasional Sodapoppin stream). Ffstv is pretty cool too, love seeing their outfits.

MANvsGAME, Team Spooky, and Destructoid are my regular go-to channels, as well as some random ones on Teevox's channel list. <3 Teevox.

I'll try out Dan's Gaming and Spamfish later. Watching MAN right now on my big screen TV. Dual monitors rocks.

Team Outer Heaven Network

- Metal Gear Solid
- Metal Gear Solid 2
- Metal Gear Solid 3
- Metal Gear Solid 4
- Peace Walker

European Extreme, speed runs, in-depth story runs, marathons. For all your Metal Gear needs, almost daily streaming.

I've been watching these guys like crazy ever since you posted about them. Threedogg is my favorite of the bunch but they're all good.

It's actually fun watching an MGS4 story run and just commenting on the craziness with other MG fans.

gullin15

He gets a lot of hate, but he's a genuinely funny/chill guy. I've never played LoL a day in my life, but I love his channel. He used to run DoTA 2.

DansGaming and Talutha for variety of games and they are pretty nice guys.

When I want my MMO/WOW fix I go to Towelliee's channel. I also enjoy his subscriber sundays where he plays awful games that his subscribers vote for him to play.

I just subbed to LethalFrag. He seems like a really nice dude.

CobaltStreak is good too if you like Isaac, League, Rock Band and other random stuff.

I subbed to Dansgaming, but I sort of regret it since he has so many subs and it probably means little to him. He doesn't seem to interact much with those watching. His chat is full of good people though.

I've enjoyed hanging out in WeAreTheRomantics' room over the last few weeks. Wes is a chill guy and makes a good effort to talk to those watching and get them involved.

I think you underestimate how hard it is to read a chat room of 1000 people and respond while trying to play a game at the same time. Not to mention the trolls. Dan has it extra rough because he's gay and people feel safe behind their fake twitch names to troll him. Someone like Towelliee is polarizing, but you got to give him credit for how he is able to interact with his followers and destroy his trolls. I know I couldn't do it.

Oh, had no idea Dan was gay, not that it matters. However, yeah, I see your point about responding to a fast moving chat with 1000+ people. I do like the people who chat there though, so there's always that.

Also, I do like how he plays whatever he feels like.

I stopped following MANvsGAME and Lethal Frag when they both went sub-only chat, which is essentially pay-to-chat.

I don't know why lethalfrag went to sub-only chat, but man did it because every game and every part of every game was getting spoiled.

Man was a bit too preachy this week though.

Awesome Video Games or Video Games Awesome is pretty good most of the times. Sometimes the main host can get whiny but he usually has a couple of people with him to balance things out. Lots of viewer interaction too.

Mega64 is consistently entertaining, if you havent been following their podcast shenanigans I'd hazard to say its funnier than their actual videos most of the time.

Also, I'm going to be that guy. I just started my own channel over there. Mostly I've been shooting the shit with a games industry friend while playing games poorly. I also stream myself 3D modeling occasionally if you find that interesting at all. Ive streamed my playthrough of Influx (Made by my friend, ok I also worked on it. Buy that!) and also done the Gnome Achievement in Half Life 2: Episode 2. I plan on digging into my library of Gamecube, N64, also Sega CD!! Working out the kinks a little bit still but mostly there!

Ok, my shilling is done. :D

EDIT: I also have a copy of MW3 to give out soon (PC), and my friend is planning on donating some other games to giveaway so look for that.

Lethal Frag said he went sub-only strictly because the chat was "growing out of control" when his viewership exploded during his streams of Boshy and SimCity. He said the chat was impossible for him to follow so he went sub-only to try controlling it. He's too much of a control freak for my liking. Even with the huge spike in chat activity, he already had probably the best-behaved non-sub-only chat on Twitch.

MAN was a huge target for trolling because he goes bananas on people constantly. Trolls know he's easy to rattle and get a huge reaction out of.

I agree that sub only mode is absolute bs, especially when some streamers have gone to that permanently. That just makes me never want to subscribe to them at all. Doesn't Twitch still have slow mode?

Yea it does, I think you can also "Voice" certain users so they can continue to chat through the slow mode, while the general chat has to wait the time out. Sub only is just lazy imo, having a general chat being able to interact and react to the stream is how it should be. If there are 1000's of viewers then just put on slow mode and Voice all your Subscribers. Your Mods get to chat freely as well, so it works out pretty well.

Studing0
He interacts with his chat, not the best of players but he always has killer music playing. He also stays like 5-10 minutes after the stream is over to talk to people. pretty sweet dude.
