Recommend me some good mobile games.

I recently received a tablet as a gift, however it has been nothing more than a paper weight as I have absolutely no use for it. I figure I might as well try and enjoy some games as I would feel like a huge asshole if I never used it.

A few conditions for the games:
1. No IAP
2. No ports

Do mobile games have demos? If so I'd prefer games with the so I can determine whether or not a games controls are shit before spending money on it.

Your tablet is an iPad?

If so then HearthStone is all you will ever need

Super Hexagon

EDIT: I'm taking "no ports" as meaning the mobile version came first. You can play it elsewhere now, and is better on PC.

I just got my first smart phone, an android and I'm wondering the same thing too. I know Hitman Go is good and I should get that.

Cut The Rope
Angry Birds
Plants vs Zombies

Those 3 are all fairly unique. Even though Plants vs Zombies debuted on PC first, the mobile version just feels superior.

D'oh, I knew I forgot something. It's an android.

Google change their policy all the time, but the last time I checked you could buy any game, play it for 15 minutes, and then return it if you didn't like it.

Some games have free versions which act kind of like demos, but are ridden with ads and stuff like that.

Played this last week and highly reccomend it.

A few more suggestions:

Rayman Jungle Run - It takes the auto-runner and makes it something actually worth playing for more than 30 seconds. Beautiful art and sound with genuinely good gameplay and level design. (The sequel Rayman Fiesta Run is pretty good too but feels very over-developed and a little cynical in the IAP department for my tastes.)

The Walking Dead - First episode is free so give it a try.

The Room & The Room 2 - Fantastic puzzle games.

World of Goo - Really polished physics puzzler with great art and sound and a surprisingly affecting story. It's hard to believed it wasn't originally developed for multi-touch tablets because that's easily the best way to play this game.

Cut the Rope - Cute and fun game that really wouldn't work as well on any other platform.

Plants vs Zombies - Plays fantastically on tablets. If you haven't played it yet, get it.

Pinball Arcade & Zen Pinball - Pinball games work so well on tablets because you can hold it vertically and see the entire table at once like they were designed to be played. I prefer playing pinball on tablet as opposed to PC or console for this very reason.

All of the "free" games suggested have in-app purchases. Looks like my first mobile game will be Kingdom Rush.

Edit: never mind, that has IAP too.

I like these:

Cut the Rope
Jetpack Joyride
Sonic Dash
Rayman Jungle Run

Sonic Dash is awful. The game it's trying to copy, Subway Surfer, is significantly better.

Rayman is awesome though. I have Fiesta Run, and it's as good as the console game.
