Recommend me some Palm OS games!

So, I just got this thing off of eBay:

Obviously, it's mainly for typing: my laptop is being repaired and I need a way to take notes in the interim—plus, I think it will be nice to have a device I can type on without worrying about battery life (this thing runs for 25+ hours on three AA's) and without a large screen blocking my face.

But like a graphing calculator, it's always fun to see how far you can push a new gadget. This thing runs Palm OS version 4.1.2. Anyone have games they played back in the day that I could install now? Bonus points if you know of a working download link, as I've discovered that Palm OS programs are often difficult to find nowadays.

First of all, it looks awesome and, as a PDA connoisseur, I freaking want that thing now.

The other thing is, is this really a Palm OS machine? The screen resolution is, mildly speaking, unconventional for a Palm OS device. Can you turn it on and show the UI? I trust you... I just haven't seen a Palm with such form factor. Does it run Palm OS apps made for more typical PDAs?

You can check this thread to look for some titles. As for downloads, be prepared to know Russian/use Google Translate and go to http://hpc.ru/pda/soft/index.phtml?pl167=on. You can also ask for advice on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/OldHandhelds/

You should have got a Pocket PC! ;-)

Are you sure that is a Palm OS device?

Yep, it's Palm OS, although yeah, I'm assuming they modified the OS a bit to account for the oddly shaped screen.

The screen is very difficult to photograph. But here is what happens if I press cmd+i on the main menu:

And this is what happens if you run a "non-optimized" Palm OS application:

It's called an Alphasmart Dana btw (if you couldn't tell from the photos); feel free too look it up. This one cost me $30 once you include shipping and stuff.

That's awesome! Thanks, I will remember such thing exists.

It's a shame that so many of the paid-games just can't be bought anymore. I found a demo of that Rayman game for example, but it's just a demo. I wouldn't mind paying a couple of bucks for it, and it was made by Gameloft, which is still around! But nope.

Same with Tetris, Air Hockey, Bejeweled, etc...

So, um, I just discovered that Palm OS game cartridges were/are a thing!

I've ordered a copy of Rayman from Amazon, but it won't come for a while.

I guess this goes to show the permanence of physical games vs digital!

Oh my god!! An Alphasmart user in the wild!! Enjoy it, dude. I've used my NEO for 10+ years now and it's an EXCELLENT no-distractions word processor.

I had a Zodiac. I still have the Palm Tungsten t3. It's a beast. I have an amiga emulator on it.

Tungsten T3 is the most awesome piece of hardware I've ever used, and I was always a Pocket PC guy. If only the screen haven't whined... there are some software solutions like WarpSpeed but they cause graphical glitches in PDAmill games.

Sega Classics ( 2003 )

Palm OS 5 only. :(

Also, ANY of the Naoki Ito games

A lot of those are clones of other titles.
SP is a clone of Spelunker. I MASTERED that title. Seriously. Memorized every secret and room.

Never liked Spelunker that much, but Muppy is fun! I think it's the first Palm OS game I've tried that I actually enjoyed. I like it more than that NES game it's based on because the screen doesn't scroll.
