Recommended good mobile RPGs???

So just a few days ago, i learned that secret of mana was on the adroid google store from a post here at neogaf. and since i just upgraded to a new phone, it had me wondering what other good rpg games are out on mobile.

Ive never download nor played a game on my phone before. Never felt i needed to since i got a high end gaming pc. But since ive been promoted at work, and this new position is a type of position where i just monitor and report stuff, i have many, many hours where im just doing nothing but staring at comouter screens.

So thinking about that secret of mana, and remember trying shadow run returns on a old co workers tablet years ago, it had me wanting to know what are some good rpgs on mobile.

Who else better to ask beside the biggest and most informed gaming community on the net??? the neo gaf community.

Im looking for true rpgs though. Like playstation one classics type rpgs. The two examples i stated above, shadow run returns and secret of mana are right up my alley.

The google play store is a cesspool of trash and searching through all of that will take years so i need some recommendations.

Check out everything by Square Enix on the store, lots of FF, new IPs, DQs etc...
Bioware also just released Jade Empire

Edit : If you have a lot of time to kill you can check out mobile MMOs, Dofus is my favorite

Titan Quest
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2
Star Wars: KOTOR
Jade Empire
The World Ends With You
Transistor
Legend of Grimrock
7 Mages
Ember

If you're willing to give RPGs designed for mobile a chance, Final Fantasy Mobius is at least worth checking out.

Oh, you're on phone. Not sure what to tell you, it's going to be a pain playing on the smaller screen. I'd only recommend playing RPGs on an iPad

All games from Kemco.

Ys 1&2.

Kemco games are crapped out cookie cutter garbage

I remember playing one once, and as soon as I left the starting town, the NEAREST place I could go had a guy at the front gate asking for real life money to go in, because it was an IAP power levelling dungeon. And that was one of their paid games, not one of their "free to play games"!

what a joke

Never played Brave Exvius extensively but I enjoyed it.

Awful shame about CC, I really liked that one.

It's not the best way to experience it but FF VI is my recommendation.

Omg!!!

Kotor
Jade empire
Transistor
Balders gate
Ys

Im bout to faint.

Man i had no idea mobile had these games. Damn, i been sleeping hard on mobile.

I aint worried about the screen size. My phone is fucking huge. Its in the phablet size. 6 inch screen, need two hands to handle this shit.

But ima check those games out on youtube and research before i buy. Boy im fucking excited now.

Ha, yeah, you'll be pleased. Mobile gets a ton of ports. Steamworld Heist, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Invisible Inc, Rome: Total War, Snakebird, Hexcells, Banner Saga 2, and much more all came this year

Steamworld Heist plays beautifully on touch. You'd never know it was a port

Binding of Isaac is expected this month.

Downloading that Kotor right now. Gonna see how this plays out with touch controls before I invest further.
Personally I found KOTOR decent to control but more recent ports control much better. I feel KOTOR was ported in an era when devs were more trying to squeeze games onto mobile rather than picking the game best suited for the platform, or at least doing more work to make the controls touch friendly. For example, Don't Starve controls excellently on touch, and most ports are turn-based strategy, puzzle games, and adventure games.

Personaly I thought KOTOR was great even on a smaller iPhone 6S.

Wish theyd bring K2 over...

"Dofus Touch"? i could try one out while i wait for the ffxi mobile port

If you have constant Internet connection, Phantom of the Kill is a good SRPG game. It's a mobile gacha but you don't need to spend a penny to enjoy it.

Although you'll be farming a LOT of units and materials to be able to finish some events...

Don't forget them Shadowruns!

Already own and beat all three on PC. Big fan of those games.

But man, this touch controls for this KOTOR feels really good. It feels like it fits pretty well. This work really well because of the pause and play of the combat. Something like how I play in Dragon age origins.

Beamdog did a pretty good job with the Enhanced Editions for Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. I haven't yet gotten to Baldur's Gate 2 but the game has a lot of good press so you should have a blast with all 3.

I recently played through Dragon Quest IV on my Galaxy S6 and had a great experience. I'm not normally big on gaming on my phone because of the touch controls but I think they worked pretty well in this case. I'm thinking about getting DQ:V now. The only real downside I can think of is that I'm pretty sure you need an internet connection to authenticate when launching the game.

Dragon Quest V is so good.
