Red Capes Are Coming: Worst superhero movies scenes?

Batman v Superman. Wheelchair bomb blows people to bits while Superman is fielding questions and being taken to task. He just stands there in the aftermath doing nothing looking sad. Awful.

Please tell me I'm completely misremembering absolutely everything about that scene.

I didn't even mention the God damn piss jar.

Fuck I hate that movie.

I still don't understand how Superman can super-snap Zod's neck, but all the super-punches he took didn't cave in Zod's face. Shouldn't 2 Kryptonians fighting be like 2 regular guys fighting because of their equal strength and resiliency to each other?

The Catwoman basketball scene hands down wins this

Everything in Amazing Spider-Man 2
Everything in Batman v Superman
Everything in Suicide Squad

Thank god those dark days of superhero movies is over.
The scene where Spidey helps that kid and walks him home was cool

The warehouse scene with Batman was great

I'm drawing a blank trying to come up with anything good in Suicide Squad.

It's easy (and correct) to say "every single scene in BvS and Suicide Squad" so I'll go with something different.

The entire final battle in Spider-Man 3, with the constant cuts to the reporter/newscaster.

Listen, I don't need realism in my superhero movies. But that was another level of dumb.

Punch someone of equal strength to you, you probably won't cave in their face. Try to snap their neck, that'll probably kill 'em.

This fucking scene pissed me off to no end. it is the 100% opposite of what Peter Parker would ever do. Zero respect for who the character is supposed to be.

daredevil-3.gif

God-awful playground fight scene from Daredevil

And

It still slays me knowing that Wesley Snipes flat out refused to open his eyes for this scene in Blade Trinity, so they just CGIed them onto his head.

Also, someone please add that dance scene from Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Snipes did what???? Why did he refuse!?

A bunch of deadshot scenes before he joins the basura squad. I was surprised how entertaining they were considering the awful end product. Like the shooting range scene or when he takes out that guy in his intro scene

Anyways:
- Avengers: that whole Loki sequence when he's in Germany or whatever. Some awful stuff.
- Avengers 2: black widow and hulk romance dialogue
- Spider-Man 3: retcon uncle Ben's death by sandman now
- the majority of scenes in Batman and robin, daredevil, first wolverine movie, x3, suicide squad, fsnt4stic..too many to count really

Erm, that has this amazing scene

I should maybe watch Amazing SM2. I mean how awful could it be?

It is that bad.

That's correct. Though, In the extended version, Superman helps the survivors afterwards. It is also revealed that Lex lined the inside of the chair with lead so that Superman couldn't detect the bomb.

That was my most hated scene from the theatrical cut, too.

Only have watched the EE cut, so had no idea there was controversy over this scene.

I had no issue with this scene actually. This is a young Peter Parker. He isn't going to be able to stay away from the girl he loves. And while it obviously didn't end well for her, I don't like when heroes stay away from people they care about for their own safety. I hate that trope.

Agreed. This actually seemed like it was a totally believable move.

Oh man, I hated this.

Breaking your solemn word to your girlfriend's dying dad is one thing...but he didn't have to act like such a maddeningly smug douchebag about it.

(Grinning) "I like promises better....when I can break them" (Wink)

Peter, you asshat.

Suicide Squad is one cringe moment after the other. Most of them thanks to the awful characterization of both Harley Quinn and the Joker.

Snipes did what???? Why did he refuse!?

I need to hear this as well.

That movie was a damn trainwreck, and it was all brought on by Snipes acting a fool. Patton Oswalt gave a pretty good summary of all the shit that took place.

From the commentary track of Blade: Trinity
David Goyer: "The other thing that happened in this scene is that Blade opened his eyes, and on the day, Wesley did not open his eyes."

Lex Luthor quoting Lolita was pretty obnoxious. They cranked his character up to 11 from that scene onward.

Disco dancing Mr Fantastic from the 2000s Fantastic Four movie is a stinker too.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 has too many to choose from. Any scene with a villain in that film is a contender. Well...except for the very last scene of the film. I actually liked that one

That scene is great though.

Yeah I liked it. Showed a perverse need to be in control

I get why people were so turned off by it though. Man was pretty damn hammy in that movie, I hope he reins it in if he shows up again

That was actually pretty bad. Loki's terrible "kneel!" line, cap doing a generic nazi joke, uninspired Germany scenery.

Godawful choreography too. And seeing Cap in that outfit fighting Loki in this poorly shot scene couldn't help but make me think of power rangers

I'll preface by saying his motivation, transformation into the goblin, and really most things about him were bad.

What I actually liked is when he flies in, looks at Spider-Man, looks at Gwen, and it clicks that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. Then he goes straight after Gwen.

For SS, the end credits?

When I first saw this still I thought of Fright Night.

I love how people almost forget there were superhero movies before this whole DCEU, MCU thing.

I haven't forgotten. I GIFed up a bunch of old crap for an article:

SupermanVsNukularNails.gif

Deserved Better Vs. Nukular Nails - Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987)

SupermanVsKumar.gif

When Kumar helped Lex Luthor beat up Superman, I was officially
underwhelmed with both the Kryptonian and the movie.

HulkVsThor88.gif

Picking on TV movies seems unfair:
Discount Thor Vs. David Banner, The Incredible Hulk Returns (1988)

BatmanVsBane.gif

Someone earlier asked for this scene.

Much of Suicide Squad is awful, but special shout out to the ridiculous villain, who is inexplicably done as a CGI character even though the design is just a human woman in a skimpy costume. Between the bad acting and dialogue, and the dodgy CGI the villain ends up looking like some kind of bobblehead with this human face pasted on an animated head and body.
