I fired up the ol' Red Dead...Revolver that is. So easy to get headshots in this game while running around. Still fun in an arcadey shooter sort of way.

It's too bad it seems we'll never get an RDR remaster anywhere. I was hoping for an announcement so that I wouldn't have to replay it on PS3. Guess I'm stuck with my subHD RDR.

Cop out answer. Rockstar has enough creativity in them to find interesting ways of creating female (or anything other than white) characters even if they aren't part of the gang.

But yeah, if it's a multiplat, especially one as big as this, I'd be surprised if market share played a role. The number of people buying a PS4 or Xbox One 4 years into the cycle for this game would be less than minuscule.

If you want this game, you're buying it on the platform you own and if you own both? Rockstar couldn't give a rat's arse about which version you buy.

In the same way CoD still sells almost just as well on Xbox (or better many months) despite not having marketing rights anymore.

Hmm maybe the game with be both a pre-quel and a sequel. The prequel side will be the online portion of the game. Think an RDR version of Heist in which you and 6 other players play as the members of Dutch's gang and plan Western Heists XD. Sequel will most likely be a new character during the aftermath of RDR.

I'd wager this will sell the same number of copies regardless of platform that gets marketing. It's way too big to be affected.

The marketing of this game matters to Sony and Microsoft. Not Rockstar, hence why the highest bidder would likely get the rights.

Market share matters because of association. If your game is going to be markerted exclusively on one console, it only helps to do so on the one who has sold considerably more worldwide.

I think it's absurd to think it doesn't play a role. I mean, yeah, money is possibly the main reason for a studio like Rockstar since their games sell extremely well without much help, but if Sony is interested, and MS outbids them, but not by much, I'm sure they would go with Sony for that reason alone.

I think you are overestimating how much market share factors in. What difference does Sony marketing make in a region where Xbox is dead and people were gonna buy the PlayStation version anyway?
The market share that probably counts the most in these deals is NA/UK, and Xbox is pretty close behind PS4 there, so...

I really, really hope, that these are all new characters. John Marston's story was very well told and well completed. I don't wanna retread over territory we've already seen. The backstory built up in my imagination is good enough. Tell us new stories.

Ok, but we won't get this information more than 1 year in advance, and the game is probably launching near the console. People that were buying Scorpio could just wait until like 2 or 3 months before the launch to see if there would be a budget bundle.

It's just that it seems like a lot of people are cheering about company A or B getting the marketing rights and scoring a point for the team.
