I think all (or most) of them work significantly better than they do on an actual 360 now. All the ones I've played have been great.

Might be in the minority but the last thing I want in this is Max Payne-style shooting in a Western game. Maybe if it was inspired by Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez, sure, but there shouldn't be aerial gunplay in Wild Bunch/Dollars/True Grit/Magnificent Seven-inspired Western action

Everything from Max Payne aside from the super high slow-motion shoot-dodge would fit in nicely with RDR. Max Payne 3's enemy hit reactions and physics would lend some weight to the combat in way congruent with Peckinpah and Leone action. Close-quarters, small-scale combat should be as exciting as and nuanced as grander battles, and having minute details and physics systems at play during gunfights helps make even a shootout against a single combatant memorable and unique.

RDR already had top notch hit feedback and AI reactions, including body part specific maiming, AI picking up weapons you shot out of their hands, and people begging for mercy/crawling from non-fatal shots. Max Payne 3 actually felt like a more fluid take on RDR's combat, especially with the way they used close quarter executions and entry/exit wounds. GTAV is where they took a a few steps back.

RDR still has the best sound design though.

It's so frustrating when games with horses stop you from going in water with them, as though horses are incapable of swimming, I can't believe of all the games out there TES Oblivion is one of the only ones that did this...

Heck, even Oregon Trail let you do this (of course with oxen and a wagon it rarely worked out that well lol).

RDR gave me like 2 or 3 of my all time greatest moments in video games and both of them were totally organic things that happened outside of the story or any scripted events. Coming into mexico on your horse with that song playing was almost perfect in the way it was constructed so having it topped by a random stormy night out on the plains with a cougar just chilling in the distance illuminated by the occasional lightning... just GAH...

R* on the current gen, chains off and back into the wild west... i'm expecting crazy ass weather along with a hilariously pointed and well constructed story followed up by MONTHS of wandering the open world with my friends online.

Driving around in a Cheetah with my friends in GTAV was pretty fun
Riding around on horses with my friends, setting up camp, hunting bears and robbing stage coaches? ... it is the end times and they are GOOD my friends.

Fucking hyped. Do we think we are gonna play as the whole gang??? Or potentially you pick as the game moves forward? any of the 7? and your friends can jump in and play one of the other gang members?
To potentially have the chance to have my whole Destiny raid team with me robbing banks and camping out under the stars ... fuck me running.

This game is gonna be amazing.

Market leader for sure but Scorpio will be out by then which will likely be the best console at the time.
