There's single player, which allows you to experience the battle of Stalingrad from both sides (Germans and Russian). Also, has a co-op mode for the campaign.
I'm very curious to see how that turns out. I mean they have bots in there already, so they'll probably use those, but I wonder if there will be special maps and events.

I'm easily going to get this instead of BF3. I know for a fact EA will charge Aussies like 69 to 89USD on every DD service available. I can live without it as there are other games to play (like this)

RO:HoS has a SP campaign aswell according to the Devs on the Steam forums, not bad for $40.

Hope they do a Beta of some kind, would really like to try this game out before purchase. Never played the first one.

Hmm, would definitely recommend you try the first one...I don't want to say it's a niche game, but it's far different than most shooters out there. The second one is adding a ton of new content/features, though, so I'm not sure how similar it will be to RO1.

Im curious as to how extensive their single player campaigns will be. While it would be awesome to finally have a german campaign, but it doesnt really sound like they have a fully fleshed out singleplayer mode. Not due to their lack of talent, but due to the development schedule.

Also, are there more details on this multiplayer skills stuff that you progress over time?

I want to say this will be a day one purchase, but I know it won't be. I'm not much for hype and that's what would drive me to pre order this game. The hype is certainly there. People are already talking about how it will revolutionize FPS and all that mess. I'll wait and see if it lives up to it's promises. If so, I'll buy it the first week. Tripwire is a good developer. Killing Floor is a favorite game of mine.

I'd really like to know more about the singleplayer campaign as well. I am rereading parts of Anthony Beevor's Stalingrad atm and there certainly is a lot of possibility for some great drama and set pieces.

They need to put that pre-order option up now.

BF2 is 6 years old and still going strong, so no.
You can host your own servers with BF2 though no? Unless they change it later EA could stop server rentals and multiplayer in general for BF3 as there's no option to host your own.

Got the Deluxe, not sure if it was worth the extra but they deserve the extra money.

I'll pick up the deluxe edition tonight. Hope the closed beta access happens sooner than later, having some major withdrawal from BF3 and need a fix.

edit: ah what's the point? bought.

This shall tide me over quite nicely until Skyrim and Dark Souls. Hell yes.

Unless SW:TOR pulls me back into MMOs or BF3 turns out not to be the disappointment I am currently expecting it to be, RO2 might be able to tide me over for quite a long time.
